Bala launches Avan Ivan!

Bala basking under the glory of getting the National Award for the best director for his Naan Kadavul, is back to work.
A day after the awards were announced, Bala has started work on his new venture Avan Ivan, to be produced by AGS Entertainments and featuring Arya, Vishal and new girl Janani Iyer.
Bala is said to be moving away from his earlier movies which were morbid and melancholic, to a realistic comedy. At the formal press meet to announce the launch Bala did not say anything about the genre of the film, except to say- “there is comedy in the film like my earlier ones.”
The dialogues are written by S Ramakrishnan, camera by his regular Arthur Wilson and music by Yuvan Shankar Raja. Ambika and Prabha are the two other actors in the film which will start rolling in Tenkasi and Shenkottah from February 10 and will be completed in two schedules. When Bala said that he wants to release Avan Ivan in a record eight months time, everybody laughed, as normally his films take at least two years to release. Bala said he is on the lookout for one more heroine for the film. Vishal who was present for the launch said: “It is the most important film in my career, and my first double hero film. I’m very happy to be a part of a Bala film.”

Bala has pulled off a coup. He has managed to rope in Suriya to do a cameo role for his underproduction film Avan Ivan with Vishal and Arya!
Suriya owes a lot to Bala who was instrumental in making him an actor to watch out for in his Nanda and latter spotted his latent comedy talent in Pitamagan. Actually Bala had first approached him and his brother Karthi to do Avan Ivan, which they could not due to date problems. Bala is on cloud nine as he has managed to bring Suriya into the project, and is likely to appear just before the climax scene in the film. Now Avan Ivan , has become hot and the first real big multi starrer in Kollywood.

'Avan Ivan' thrills Yuvan

Yuvan Shankar Raja, who is composing tunes for national award winner Bala's 'Avan Ivan', is all thrilled. The movie, supposedly a comedy caper, features Arya and Vishal together.

On working for the movie, Yuvan opened up saying, "Working for ‘Avan Ivan’, the track sounds new to me! but Indian nothing western for this film!". Oh doesn’t that remind of his sensational village tunes for ‘Paruthi Veeran’.

Yuvan also says, "We have recorded live for ‘Avan Ivan’. The songs have come good". Meanwhile, the music composer has denied reports that he is working in a Hindi film. He quickly says “'I'm not doing AAKROSH BGMs!".

The younger son of maestro Illayaraja is riding high on a success wave with his songs turning out to be chartbusters right from the beginning of the year. 'Goa', 'Paiyaa' and the recent 'Naan Mahaan Alla', to name a few.
