വയലാർ (1972 - അച്ഛനും ബാപ്പയും), ഒഎൻവി കുറുപ്പ് (1988 - വൈശാലി), യൂസഫലി കേച്ചേരി (2000 - മഴ) എന്നിവർക്ക് ശേഷം ദേശീയ പുരസ്കാരം നേടുന്ന മലയാളിയായ ഗാനരചയിതാവാണ് പ്രഭാവർമ്മ.

കേരളത്തിൻ്റെ സാംസ്കാരിക രംഗത്തെ സജീവ സാന്നിധ്യം ആയ പ്രഭാവർമ്മ രണ്ട് പതിറ്റാണ്ടായി ചലച്ചിത്ര ഗാനരചയിതാവ് എന്ന നിലയിൽ മികവുറ്റ വരികൾ എഴുതി, എന്നാൽ നിശബ്ദമായി സിനിമയ്ക്ക് ഒപ്പം സഞ്ചരിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. ഒരുപക്ഷേ തരംഗം ആകുന്ന ജനപ്രിയ ചിത്രങ്ങളുടെ ഭാഗമല്ലാത്തത് കൊണ്ടാവാം
അദ്ദേഹം ഗാനരചയിതാവ് എന്ന നിലയിൽ കാര്യമായി പരാമർശക്കപെട്ട് പോകാത്തത്. മൂന്ന് തവണ സംസ്ഥാന പുരസ്കാരം നേടിയ അദ്ദേഹം പക്ഷേ എണ്ണത്തിൽ വളരെ കുറച്ച് ഗാനങ്ങൾ മാത്രമേ എഴുതിയിട്ടുള്ളൂ. കവി എന്ന നിലയിൽ സാഹിത്യരംഗത്ത് പുരസ്കാരങ്ങൾ ഒരുപാട് വാരിക്കൂട്ടിയ പ്രഭാവാർമ്മയെ തേടി ദേശീയ ചലച്ചിത്ര പുരസ്കാരം വന്നതിൽ ഒരുപാട് സന്തോഷം ഉണ്ട്. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന് അഭിനന്ദനങ്ങൾ
