I have seen only 3 German movies - Das Experiment, Downfall and now Sophie Scholl. The first 2 are classics while Sophie is an extremely well made film. There are two more German movies I am planning to watch soon.
1. The Lives of Others (2006), which won the Oscar in 2007.
2. Four Minutes (2006), a critically acclaimed movie about an elderly piano teacher trains a young convict at a women's prison.
Lives of Others has been released in high definition blu-ray format and so it's only a question of finding the right time (and mood) to watch it. But Four Minutes is still in DVD and I am not sure if proper English subtitles are available for this German film.
