Aarada Lost-ine kuttam parayunnathu?
Lost season 1 was a classic. Njanokke otta stretch-il 12 episodes okke irunnu kandittundu. That is the level of suspense.
Though not as good as season 1, season 2 was also incredible. Introduction of new characters and finally meeting "the others".
Season 3 was the worst of all. It started slow. The makers didn't know how to take the story forward. By about 6th episode, the show ran out of steam and was suspended by the channel. JJ Abrams, the show creator, was busy working on his movie Cloverfield and that affected the quality of the episodes. The veiwership fell and the channel was in panic. Media declared Lost as officially dead. But luckily Abrams came back after finishing his movie. His first announcement was the end date. Lost will end in May 2010.
With the ending date set, the makers now had a clear idea as to how much mystery should be revealed in each episode and which all characters should be introduced over the course of time. The show picked up from the 7th episode of Season 3. The show that was once declared dead, suddenly became action packed. In the final episode of Season 3, a killer twist was introduced which even questions basic laws of time space continuum. Lost was back!
Season 4 began with a bang. For the first time, time travel was officially brought in on the show. The viewership suddenly picked up and has been on top since then. More science fiction elements are brought in time to time. Season 5 is being broadcasted in the US now. The next episode will be shown on Thursday. Lost's comeback is regarded as one of the biggest comebacks in the history of American Television.
If you compare the quality of various seasons, here is my priority.
Season 1>4,5>2>3
When the show hit an all time low in Season 3, some of my friends stopped watching. Somehow I had faith and kept on watching and I was rewarded. Most of my friends resumed watching ever since the comeback, while some people are still skeptical. Can't really blame them as Lost stooped down to ultra low levels in Season 3. But don't stop there. The show has made an impossible comeback. Lost is simply brilliant!!!
One request. Don't watch random episodes once in a while on TV and complain. This is not CSI or FRIENDS. If you want to enjoy Lost, you MUST watch every episode. Don't miss a single episode. The story line is so complex, yet brilliant.
