BEAST FINAL BOXOFFICE
Beast ended its run at the box office with Rs. 169 crores approx in India and Rs. 236 crores worldwide. The film has done big numbers for a Kollywood movie but ended up being the lowest-grossing movie for Vijay since Mersal in 2017.
Film set the new opening day record in Tamil Nadu besting four years old record of Sarkar. The film posted strong numbers during the weekend but recorded declines after the weekend, eventually closing at Rs. 120 crores in the state, becoming the seventh-highest grosser ever in the state. The film also had a huge opening outside Tamil Nadu but dropped heavily with the release of KGF 2 on the second day. The final numbers were quite fair in AP/TS with nearly Rs. 20 crores and Karnataka with Rs. 15 crores but Kerala was disappointing.
Worldwide closing territorial breakdown for Beast is as follows :
Tamil Nadu - Rs. 120 crores
AP/TS - Rs. 18.90 crores
Karnataka - Rs. 14.20 crores
Kerala - Rs. 11.40 crores
North India - Rs. 4.90 crores
Domestic Total - Rs. 169.40 crores
Middle East - $1.25 million
Malaysia - $1.74 million
North America - $1.80 million
Singapore - $0.76 million
Sri Lanka - $0.40 million
UK - $0.76 million
France - $0.43 million
Europe - $0.90 million
Australia - $0.46 million
Rest of World - $0.25 million
Overseas Total - $8.75 million / Rs. 66.60 crores
Worldwide Total - Rs. 236 crores
The collections of the film in Tamil Nadu are at HIT to SUPER HIT level for a big star movie. Since the movie was an own release by the production, there are no losses at distribution .

BUMPER OPENING FOR VIKRAM
Vikram taken a bumper opening at the Tamil Nadu box office with occupancy around 70-75 per cent in the morning shows. The opening occupancies are fourth-best this year behind Beast, KGF Chapter 2 and Valimai, though in terms of volume of business it is way ahead of KGF 2
The film is released on around 550 cinemas in the state and has created a good capacity of Rs. 25 crores plus. A Rs. 20 crores opening day is achievable with this start but will depend on how the movement is during the day. For now Rs. 18-19 crores opening day is very much likely, which will be well ahead of career-best numbers for Kamal Haasan.
Outside Tamil Nadu, the opening ranges from Excellent in Kerala and Karnataka to Very Good in Telugu states. The Hindi dubbed version of the film hasn’t opened well but the Tamil version has good sales in North India. The film at end of the day may flirt with Rs. 30 crores all India opening day.
Kamal Haasan in his decades-long career has given huge box office hits and openers but one was missing for some time now. His last bumper opening was back in 2008 with Dasavathaaram and with Vikram he has once again shown his clout.
