Muthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol @PVR Kochi 20/01/2017
Super successful Jibu Jacob's new movie 'Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol' is so simple and tensionless that takes it to the point of being trivial and devoid of substance but what may keep you alive with the movie are 2 easy performers - Mohanlal and Meena and their dazzling chemistry which we had previously seen during the first hour of 'Drishyam'.
'Muthirivallikal' is well taken so that even though the premise is that of a family movie, it looks like a today's movie. It sparkles here and there but at most times goes through the routine story that you may have seen before. For a movie that is 2 hour 35 minutes long, one is almost longing for the climax as the time comes to a close. By the end though you may feel an okay family watch which satisfies due to its morality and clean intentions. If you watch it with your family, it should be a feel good watch.
Opinion - Family Time.
Thanks my dear.......

Ezra @ PVR Kochi 10/02/2017
Where Jay K's debut movie 'Ezra' takes us, is to a world which hardly any Malayalam movie maker has ventured to (at least in the last decade or so) . There is no forced humor to act as side dish for horror and no characters running around scaring each other with cat calls. Not only does 'Ezra' take you to a genuine horror movie world but also set the backdrop in the world of Jews - which has been part of Kerala's history but never seen on the screen. The movie succeeds to a good extent in passing off this freshness from the celluloid to the audience and there in lies its success. The staged horror setting, dramatic arrangement of scenes, typical flashback and some unintentionally funny dialogues could be the negatives but the 'Ezra' needs to be appreciated for the sheer guts of trying to make the malayalam audience get a feel of some genuine horror without the usual excuse of 'few laughs, white sari clad ghosts and molested servants back to take revenge' era.
