How Aishwarya Rai beats the heat!.
The summer sun has begun beating down relentlessly and the long shooting schedules have become a sweaty, tiring affair for actors and crewmembers.
However, while shooting for director Vipul Amrutlal Shah’s film Action Replayy with Akshay Kumar, the film’s leading actress Aishwarya Rai seemed unconcerned about the heat even though everyone on the sets sweated buckets. The director was obviously curious to know Ash’s secret of beating the heat, and find it out he did.
The secret was Ash’s mama Vrinda Rai’s homemade recipe - kokum juice. Yes, Ash’s mother would visit the movie’s sets with a pitcher of kokum juice for the actress. It worked wonders in fighting the heat.
“The only person who would be completely unaffected with the heat was Ash. That's when we all realised about her kokum juice,” Shah is quoted as saying.
Once the secret was out everyone wanted a glass of the heat-beater juice. And Ash’s ma would gladly distribute it among the crew.

Deepika, Priyanka, Bebo to do action stunts.
For centuries, actors (read heroes) have been associated with action, fights and stunts. And everyone would agree that Akshay Kumar by far rules the roost in this genre. However, lately we have noticed that many Bollywood babes who predominantly used to sing and dance around trees and show skin have entered the action field and have no qualms about doing the stunts themselves without even using a body double. Take a look at some of the hot B’wood babes who’ve managed to ace this.
Deepika Padukone
The sports lover, Deepika Padukone may seem all coy and delicate but the truth is far from one’s imagination. The actress, in fact, is currently shooting action sequences for her upcoming film, Lafangey Parindey a Yash Raj Films production, starring Neil Nitin Mukesh opposite her. Deepika apparently plays a tomboy wearing leather jackets, jumping high walls, doing somersaults and riding bikes as well. News is that she trained and did most of the stunts by herself without actually using a double. Now that’s indeed action. She had also learnt the basics of Kung Fu for her film, Chandni Chowk to China opposite Akshay Kumar.
Priyanka Chopra
The daring babe, Priyanka Chopra has done action sequences and trained really hard for them in a couple of films now. Sports and action keeps her adrenalin running. Her action sequence in Drona was spectacular. In case you haven't seen the film, you shouldn’t miss the scene where Priyanka does a fight atop a running train moving at 70 kmph. Wow! She even did somersaults from one bogey to the other. Priyanka she will soon be seen in Farhan Akhtar’s Don 2 where she is rumoured to be doing more action sequences.
Kareena Kapoor
Saifeena are coming together in a film produced by Saif Ali Khan himself, titled Agent Vinod. The film has Kareena playing a secret agent. In an interview, Saif had said that Kareena would be doing hard core action sequences in the film. Darling Bebo has already done action in Asoka where she learnt how to sword fight. Now that is indeed commendable.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan
Aishwarya had done small-time action sequences in Yash Raj’s Dhoom 2 although most of the parts were done by a stunt double. In Ashutosh Gowarikar’s Jodha Akbar, Ash apparently learnt sword fighting, and had managed to master it even before Hrithik Roshan and Sonu Sood could imagine. Ash is a known face worldwide and has done a couple of Hollywood films. In The Last Legion where Aishwarya plays a Byzantine warrior, she has performed some bold action stunts which have been really commendable, state her co-actors in various interviews.
Shruti Haasan
Like father like daughter. Shruti Haasan looks like she is following her father Kamal Haasan’s footsteps. The one-film-old Shruti has managed to get great comments about her daredevil stunts in Luck. She learnt and performed karate and other martial arts for the film. In addition to that, in one of the sequences she jumped off a flying plane straight into the sea. Mind blowing!
Nandana Sen, Neeru Singh, and Aruna Shields
The action thriller, Prince starring Vivek Oberoi as the main lead will face tough competition with his co-stars doing equally tough action sequences. All three, Nandana, Neeru and Aruna play the character of Maya in Vivek Oberoi’s life but only one of them is saying the truth. Each one of them has a unique style of approach and their appearance and style depict that. But whether this works or not only time can tell.
Till then, all the best to all these daring ladies performing stunts.

Katrina Kaif's and Akshay Kumar's Headbutt on the Set of 'Tees Meer Khan'.
Another accident for poor Katrina Kaif! When will this ever end? She keeps passing out, falling and hurting herself while shooting her movies! We already told you that Katz has been feeling weak lately and has been hospitalized a few times due to exhaustion. And now disaster has struck again!
Last December the "De Dana Dan" actress was taken to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai to undergo surgery. She was reportedly suffering from a low hemoglobin count that kept decreasing.
In February, Katz suffered from food poisoning and reports said she had been hospitalized and told by her doctors to get some serious rest.
And earlier in March, while shooting her new movie, "Tees Maar Khan," Katrina was ready for her close up with makeup and hair done when she all of a sudden collapsed on the set!
Chaos ensued as no one had an idea of what to do! According to reports the whole crew panicked as Katrina fell to the floor and the only one reacting was her co-star Akshay Kumar.
And now the two actors are at it again! But this time, Katrina didn't faint due to exhaustion. She simply hurt herself, and Akshay seized the occasion to prank the ill-fated actress, all in the name of filming fun!
While shooting a sexy sequence, Katrina leaned in toward Akshay's face, but instead of locking lips or looking deep into each other's eyes, Akshay's jaw hit Katz's head and blood started streaming down her face! Wow! That sounds serious! No wonder the Bollywood beauty panicked!
And Akshay didn't help as he told his co-star that she would need to go to the hospital and get stitches on her head!
But the joke had the opposite effect on Katrina who reportedly started to cry, and Akshay had to admit that it was all just a gag!
Phew! We're happy to know that Katrina Kaif is doing fine and that she didn't hurt herself seriously. But it seems like she needs some rest as accidents keep happening.

Akshay Kumar is a die-hard fan of Bollywood memorabilia.
Mumbai: In comparison to the Bachchans and the Khans, Akshay Kumar may not be the biggest Bollywood actor, but the action star is a huge fan of Indian cinema ever since he was just a nondescript person, working as a cook in Bangkok.
‘Khiladi Kumar’ has a secret passion of collecting classic Bollywood paraphernalia such as vintage photographs and posters of yesteryear stars. It is believed that even the close friends of Akshay are unaware of his secret passion.
Recently, while talking to a news daily, a close source said, “Akshay has been collecting these posters for years and has built himself a sizeable collection. In ‘Action Replay’, Akshay plays the owner of a coffee house and when the set was being planned, director Vipul Shah mentioned that he wanted it to be a Bollywood themed café. They were searching for suitable posters but were getting only cheesy ones from the market.”
“That’s when Akshay Kumar revealed that he had many good posters in his personal collection but was in two minds about bringing them out of his house because he was afraid they would get damaged or lost. When Vipul took personal responsibility for them and assured Akshay that he would make sure each and every one of them was handed back after the shoot, Akshay took him home and let him choose from his collection. Vipul then handpicked some posters,” said the source.
When enquired the director, Vipul Shah said, “We were not getting good posters and the problem kept cropping up in production meetings. We had absolutely no clue that Akshay had such a collection — it was a pleasant surprise.”
Even Akshay confirmed the reports and said, “Yes, it’s true that I have lent some posters to Vipul because for the longest time, they couldn’t source original ones.”
