Despite the age difference, AK looked great with Jacky. In fact, same goes in case of his other co-actresses too right from Priyanka Chopra to Katrina Kaif to Kareena Kapoor Khan among others. Alia Bhatt: She definitely isn’t restricting her reach to only working with the Varuns and Sidharths of Bollywood. Not to forget, Ms Bhatt had signed her very second film Highway opposite Randeep Hooda. And she is yet again gearing up to work with a senior actor like Shah Rukh Khan in a film. We believe it would be no less than a treat to watch Alia opposite Akki too sometime soon? Maybe they should do an action film together? Shraddha Kapoor: She might be petite with more of a girl-next-door image. But don’t underestimate the immense energy and talent that she carries under her wings. Her scintillating performance in ABCD 2 is a proof of what Shraddha can do. And a film opposite Akshay will only prove how this couple will assure a blockbuster like never before!

Athiya Shetty: And lastly, we have this newest chic on the block. Though her debut film Hero is yet to hit the screens(September 11). But from the few stills that we’ve got to see from the trailer, Athiya definitely has the potential to make it big. Plot: A major and his five soldiers go behind the enemy lines on a tank for a deadly mission to strike the heart of a Nazi camp. They are hopelessly outnumbered and the major has a bunch of inexperienced soldiers at his service. How does this team of fighters manages to complete their mission forms the rest of the story.

Why Akshay: After watching Baby, one could surely say that Akshay makes for a great army man onscreen. But Fury is not like Baby, as it deals with problems of the major and his bunch of soldiers who are battling the odds from staying in a tank. It does not involve hand to hand combat and will give an opportunity to Akshay to show off his acting skills.

Why Akshay: Back in the day, Akshay Kumar had proved that he can carry a psycho thriller on his shoulders with Sangharsh. Ben Affleck’s Gone Girl will give a chance to Akshay to redeem himself in the genre of psychological thrillers. Also, the film has enough scope of drama in which Akshay excels.

Why Akshay: A little slice of life drama flick is what Akshay needs in his career writer. This beautiful film is perfect match for Akshay as he is really attached to his family and kids in real life, and will bring out the apt emotions of man dealing with grief and jealousy.

Akshay Kumar’s fourth release of the year Singh Is Bling is all set to hit the theaters on 02 Oct 2015. The movie also stars Amy Jackson and Lara Dutta. The movie is directed by Prabhu Deva whose last two releases Ramaiya Vastavaiya and Action Jackson were big flops at Box Office. Singh is Bling is a big movie for all the actors associated with it. Akshay is looking for his first 100 crores grosser of 2015, while Prabhu is hoping for a big hit after debacle of Action Jackson. Amy Jackson would be hoping to make it big in Bollywood with Singh Is Bling.

Singh is Bling Box Office Collection – Positives with the movie

1) Akshay Kumar’s recent form – Akshay delivered three back to back hits this year with Baby, Gabbar is Back and Brothers. The actor is in terrific form as far as Box Office is concerned.

2) Akshay-Prabhu deadly combo – Akshay and Prabhu worked together in Rowdy Rathode. The movie is the biggest hit of Akshay Kumar with collection of 134 crores.

3) Masala Entertainer – Singh is Bling looks like an illogical masala entertainer. That’s the irony but such movies generally works at the Box Office.

4) Akshay Kumar in a comic role – Akshay Kumar in a full fledged comic role is always loved by audience be it in Welcome, Singh Is King, Hera Pheri or Bhaagam Bhaag.

5) Release Date – Oct 2 is Gandhi Jayanti and with no big competition we can expect bumper opening from Singh Is Bling. Last two year Gandhi Jayanti releases opened to terrific response. Besharam in 2013 collected 21 crores on opening day while Bang Bang in 2014 collected 27 crores despite competing with Haider.

Singh is Bling Box Office Collection – Negatives with the movie

1) Starcast– Leave aside Akshay Kumar, the other members of the starcast are not well known faces. Amy Jackson isn’t a big face in Bollywood while Lara Dutta is making a comeback after a longtime.

2) Low hype and buzz – I may be right or wrong but hype and buzz surrounding the movie isn’t great. Generally Akshay Kumar releases create quite a buzz before its release which isn’t the case with SIB.

3) Prabhu Deva’s recent form – Prabhu Deva’s debut movie Wanted was a big hit. Then he directed Akshay Kumar in Rowdy Rathode which was also a blockbuster hit. But, his last two releases Ramaiya Vastavaiya and
Action Jackson bombed at Box Office. It would be interesting to see how the director comeback with this one.

4) Singh Is Bling looks like a Punjabi movie released in Hindi. All the songs of the movie are Punjabi. The movie will surely attract large audience in Delhi, Punjab and North Indian sates bu at the same time it may

Kejriwal offers support to Akshay Kumar on the farmer-widows’ cause

Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal met with actor Akshay Kumar on Tuesday and offered support to the actor’s efforts towards rehabilitating the widows of the late debt-ridden farmers in the Vidharbha region. In a closed door meeting lasting half an hour at the CM Secretariat, Kejriwal told Akshay Kumar that after being informed by AAP spokesperson Raghav Chaddha, about his call for funds at a charity function co-hosted by Hindustan Times the previous evening, he decided to invite the actor.



“Please tell us how we can help the cause. I’m ready to contribute from the CM’s relief fund,” said Arvind Kejriwal. The actor informed him that while promoting his upcoming film Singh is Bling, he has been collecting funds for the cause, which his staff sends directly to the needy widows. “One farmer’s family requires around Rs 50,000 to support livelihood for six months. I have been supporting thirty families each month. At the fund raiser event yesterday, we could collect money for a 100 families more, in just 15 minutes,” Akshay informed him.

Arvind Kejriwal then spoke of an NSSO report that claims that a large number of farmers are quitting agriculture as they are not able to sustain their income through farming. “I find it to be a very sad thing. Farming is our foundation. We must remind people of the need to go back to their roots, said Akshay and offered support by being the brand ambassador of any campaign that Delhi Government initiates in this direction.

The meeting ended on a cheerful note with the CM informing the actor that he is a fan of his work and has watched most of his films. “I found him to be quite a down-to-earth person. It’s kind of him to offer support for a cause that’s not directly related to his State,” said Akshay Kumar.

Akshay Kumar’s Singh Is Bling releases in theatres tomorrow and like every other week, it’s time for our IndicineFBO first day box office prediction and also a more detailed prediction for the first film in the last quarter of 2015.

Factors in favour of Singh Is Bling

It’s as good as a solo release for Singh Is Bling on Gandhi Jayanti holiday as the other release is Irrfan Khan’s Talvar, which is a word-of-mouth film. More often than not, a big holiday advantage is around 30-35%.
Officially, Singh Is Bling is not a sequel to Akshay’s 2008 film ‘Singh Is King’ which took a record opening at the box office. But the recall value is likely to positively impact the opening day collections of Singh Is Bling.
Akshay is a huge star in North India and Singh Is Bling holds tremendous appeal in circuits where he commands a strong following.

Factors that could work against Singh Is Bling

It’ll be Akshay’s 4th release this year. None of his films have been runaway hits at the box office and his last release, Brothers, was received very poorly. Singh Is Bling arrives less than 50 days after the Brothers debacle, which could affect the business of his latest release.
For some unknown reason, the comedy genre hasn’t been performing too well in the last few years. On-screen madness worked a few years ago, but not anymore. Having said that, there hasn’t been a good comedy film in years now and if Singh Is Bling is a well made film, it should find its audience. Also, when it comes to comic timing and onscreen buffoonery, it simply cannot get better than Akshay Kumar.
Prabhu Deva last directed Action Jackson, which was rejected by the audience when it released last year.

Like most of his films, Akshay will be fighting a lone battle once again at the box office. The music album hasn’t quite gained the popularity that it was expected to (atleast there are no chartbusters like Teri Ore or Jee Karda from Singh Is King) and the lead heroine isn’t too popular either. Akshay is the lone crowd puller.

Moving on, Gandhi Jayanti in the last couple of years has been good for the industry. The year-on-year growth in business has been huge. While Singh Is Bling is unlikely to continue the upward trend, it remains to be seen if it can match or beat the business of Besharam in 2013.

Akshay Kumar is ready with his fourth release of the year and the good news is, the advance booking of Singh Is Bling, which opened counters at the box office earlier this week, has received a fantastic response.

The advance falls in the ‘outstanding’ category in circuits like East Punjab and Delhi/UP. Even at multiplexes in these circuits, tickets have been priced higher than normal movies, but the pace of ticket sales is better than all Akshay films that have released this year.

In other Akshay Kumar strongholds like Rajasthan, Central India and even Bihar, the advance booking is good.

In Mumbai, the biggest circuit for film business in India, the advance booking is average. In south circuits like Mysore, Tamilnadu/Kerala, the response has been below average to poor.

Singh Is Bling is on course for a very good opening on Gandhi Jayanti holiday. The film is certain to be the biggest opener for Akshay Kumar, but it remains to be seen if it can surpass the ‘Independence Day’ holiday business of Brothers, which collected Rs 21.43 crore on Day 2.

In the last couple of years, big films like Bang Bang and Besharam have opened very well at the box office. Bang Bang was excellent even though it released with Haider.

For Singh Is Bling, a good opening in North India is pretty much guaranteed, but it remains to be seen how the film opens at multiplexes in Mumbai circuit and the rest of India.

Akshay Kumar starrer "Singh Is Bliing" (Singh Is Bling) emerged as the second highest first week grosser of 2015, after Salman Khan's "Bajrangi Bhaijaan".

After its first week run, "Singh Is Bliing" (Singh Is Bling) minted Rs 77.6 crore, which is the second highest of this year. Interestingly, the masala entertainer has also shattered the first week box office collection record of "Welcome Back".



"Welcome Back", which was released on 4 September, accumulated Rs 74.02 crore. The first week income of John Abraham starrer "Welcome Back" was second highest, until the release of "Singh Is Bliing".

Prabhudeva's directorial film "Welcome Back" had a good opening day and opening weekend, but the collection started dropping from its fourth day at the box office. On Monday, "Singh Is Bliing" minted Rs 7.1 crore, on Tuesday the film had a steady collection of Rs 6.56 crore, on Wednesday collection dropped by 20% and on Thursday it dropped by another 20%.

The sixth day (Wednesday) box office income is Rs 5.30 crore and seventh day (Thursday) income is Rs 4.20 crore.

Nevertheless, the film has still managed to put up a good show with its first week box office collection. Akshay film is now looking to enter the coveted Rs 100 crore club at the domestic box office.

"Singh Is Bliing" requires approximately Rs 23 crore to surpass the century mark and if it remains unaffected by Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's "Jazbaa" release, then it will touch the milestone by second weekend.

Directed by Prabhudeva, the film features an ensemble cast, including Akshay, Amy Jackson, Kay Kay Menon, Lara Datta, Pradeep Rawat, Anil Mange, Rati Agnihotri, Yograj Singh and Kunal Kapoor among others.
