    ICYMI: ZLATAN DEAL UNLIKELY
Manchester United are unlikely to offer Zlatan Ibrahimovic a contract extension, according to Sky sources.
United have the option of exercising a 12-month extension to Ibrahimovic's one-year deal, which is up at the end of the month. But despite the 35-year-old's preference to remain at Old Trafford, sources say his name is likely to be on the club's list of released players to be published by the Premier League on Friday.
Ibrahimovic had successful surgery on his damaged cruciate ligament at the start of May, and surgeons have been impressed by hiss progress, but it is thought it will be well into 2018 before he is back playing. And releasing last season's top scorer would free United's wage bill of a large salary - more than £19m, according to figures published in a recent book - ahead of the transfer window.
Ibrahimovic scored 28 goals, including a winner in the EFL Cup final against Southampton, before suffering a knee injury during United's Europa League quarter-final against Anderlecht.

Another reason to remember 2016/17 was the notable progress of two of Manchester United's most exciting homegrown talents.
Having made the successful transition from the Academy to the first-team, Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard have become established stars for both United and England. The two pals underlined their immense talent, and growing influence, by coming of age during a mammoth season for the Reds.
Rashford made more appearances (53) than any other United player and was the joint second-highest scorer with 11 goals in all competitions, while Lingard scored in both the Community Shield and EFL Cup final triumphs at Wembley in what was another impressive campaign for the 24-year-old.
Watch some of the duo's best moments in our video above.

Manchester United are increasingly hopeful of completing the signing of Álvaro Morata after the Real Madrid striker informed the European champions that he would like to leave Santiago Bernabéu this summer.
After confirmation that last season’s top scorer Zlatan Ibrahimovic will not be offered a new contract at Old Trafford, United have acted quickly to secure his replacement and have offered around £60m for the 24-year-old Spain international. Having refused their opening offer of £52m earlier this week, Madrid are holding out for a fee closer to €90m (£79m) but could now be willing to accept a compromise after holding talks with Morata’s representative, Juanma López on Friday.

United have also been linked with a move for the Torino striker Andrea Belotti as Mourinho seeks to rebuild his attacking options, while reports in Portugal on Friday claimed that a £30m move for Sweden defender Victor Lindelof could be back on.

Manchester United haven't given up on signing Ivan Perisic. The Red Devils have made a new offer of €40 million euro that Inter turned down as they let it be known they will only consider offers of €50 million or above to start negotiating. But a factor to consider is what the Croatian winger wants to do, the perception at Inter is that Perisic may have already reached an agreement with Mourinho's club and that he wants to leave despite fact that manager Spalletti and director Ausilio consider him a key part of their project. "We must not convince anyone, Inter is the best we can aspire to and they must convince us to be with Inter. I have arrived here at Inter with enthusiasm, if there are people who do not feel this enthusiasm then it's better to go where they feel inclined to do they job well.On the market and the challenge to the other big championships. "We have also talked about the future, there are teams ahead. We need to get as ready as soon as possible to deal with clubs that created a separation from our team last season in the table. To close this distance, we will have to start strong and be ready right away. The stronger we are, the more we work in a more productive way, the more we can fill the gap. There is not only Juve, which must be respected but not feared as an opponent. It's clear that we have work to do, there are things to put in place for the team. I would like to see players wanting to make this team strong willed, but those who do not think they're up to it will clear out right away because they have to put in place. If we do not train at 100%, it is impossible to win, there are strong clubs and players like us who compete well and the results become difficult…”
