i think it will be stupid to make way by shipping our talismanic striker out...

and just 20 million? that too from city? rificulous..isnt it?

city has denied this attempt anyway..

Manchester City have rubbished claims by Didier Drogba's agent that the club have been in contact about signing the Chelsea striker.

Thierno Seydi suggested in a radio interview that Drogba could leave Stamford Bridge before the transfer deadline and said there had already been dialogue with City.

But a City spokesperson said: "There has been absolutely no contact. We have not spoken to him and there is no foundation to this." (Press Association)

Ajax 3-1 Chelsea: 'Keeper Turnbull at fault

A calamitous error by Ross Turnbull helped Martin Jol's Ajax to a comfortable 3-1 win over a young Chelsea side in their pre-season friendly fixture in Amsterdam
Jol, who is to remain in the Netherlands after his bosses refused to release him to take over as Fulham manager, would have been delighted by the positive start his side made against the Premier League champions and they were rewarded with an early goal.
Former Feyenoord youngster Jeffrey Bruma attempted to clear a cross in the box but his header struck keeper Turnbull on the arm and flew into the net.
Daniel Sturridge then scored an excellent equaliser for Carlo Ancelotti's side, who were again without their World Cup contingent, as a loose ball broke to him around 25 yards out and the England Under-21 international produced a wonderful controlled finish.
But then Turnbull failed to deal with a long punt downfield by Netherlands international keeper Maarten Stekelenburg, losing the ball as he slid towards the edge of his area to allow Siem De Jong to slot home into the empty net and give the hosts a 2-1 interval lead.
Korea's Suk Hyun-jun then sealed the win in the final minute as he tapped in Daley Blind's cross for the Eredivisie outfit.

Chelsea striker Didier Drogba undergoes groin surgery:

Chelsea striker Didier Drogba is likely to miss the start of the season after undergoing a groin operation. The club described the procedure performed on the Ivory Coast international as "minimally invasive".
And it is expected that Drogba, 32, will return to full training in about three weeks.
That estimate would, however, put him out of the Charity Shield match against Manchester United on 8 August and the start of the Premier League campaign.
A short statement on Chelsea's official website said he had been troubled by a groin injury for part of last season and the decision to have the operation on Friday was intended to "optimise his rehabilitation".

Chelsea have a serious of injury concerns ahead of the new Premier League campaign, which they will begin with a home match against newly promoted West Brom on 14 August.

New signing Yossi Benayoun also has a groin problem, first-choice goalkeeper Petr Cech is expected to be out for about a month because of a calf injury and defender Alex hurt his thigh in training
