Megastar Mammootty will for the first time wield the role of a movie director in a new flick. The megastar will be calling the shots on screen, in the new movie by K M Madhusoodhanan titled as 'Karuna-the return of Buddha'.

To be produced by Playhouse and NFDC, the movie which is also scripted by the director will be shot at locations in Madhya Pradesh and Mathura.

K M Madhusoodhanan is the director of the much acclaimed state award winner 'Bioscope', which featured Sreenivasan.
