Asus Zenfone 2 priced Rs 12,999 onwards

Asus Zenfone 2, the latest version of the budget phone series from the Taiwanese PC maker, has finally arrived in India. Unveiled at CES 2015 in January, the new Asus flagship will be available exclusively on Flipkart in a fortnight with pre-orders starting today.

The new Zenfone 2 will be available in four variants. Two variants of the Zenfone 2 ZE 551 ML model come with 4G RAM and 2GB RAM respectively (both with 1080p display) and the ZE 550 ML model with 720p display and 2GB RAM.

The Zenfone 2 ZE 551 ML (4GB RAM) model is priced at Rs 22,999, and the 32 GB version will cost Rs 19,999. The ZE 551 ML (2GB RAM) costs Rs 14,999, while the ZE 550 ML will be available at Rs 12,999.

The 64GB variant will compete with the OnePlus one which is in the same price range at Rs 21,998 now. But the former has an edge as it is the first phone to sport 4GB RAM.

On the hardware front, Zenfone 2 ZE 551 ML (4GB RAM) version runs on a 2.3 GHz quad-core Intel Atom Z3580 processor while both the 2GB versions run on 1.8GHz quad-core Intel Atom Z3560 CPU. Other features of the different variants are same. All the models will offer dual SIM card slots with support for 4G in the first slot.

It comes with a 13MP PixelMaster camera, and a 64-bit Intel Atom Z3580 processor with 4GB RAM. All the ZenFone 2 variants offer 5.5-inch display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and is powered by a 3000mAh battery. It runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop with ZenUI.

However, Flipkart has so far listed only the 2GB version of the phone.

Lenovo A5000 With 4000mAh Battery Reportedly Launched at Rs. 10,250

Lenovo's new A5000 smartphone, which was launched on Thursday in Russia, has reportedly been launched in India as well, as tipped by an established Mumbai-based retailer. Lenovo India is however yet to make an official announcement or list the device on its India site.

According to retailer Mahesh Telecom, the Lenovo A5000 smartphone has been launched at Rs. 10,250. We can expect Lenovo India to announce the smartphone in the coming days.

Alongside the Russia launch, the Lenovo A5000 smartphone was also officially listed on the company's official UAE site.

One of the most notable features of the Lenovo A5000 is that it is backed by a large 4000mAh battery which is rated to deliver up to 17 hours of talk time and up to 792 hours of standby time on 3G networks. Unfortunately, the official listing of the Lenovo A5000 hinted that the smartphone might just support 3G connectivity with no 4G LTE support. The smartphone also supports Quick Charge feature that allows the battery to get fully charged in 3 hours while a 15-minute charge offers up to 4 hours of talk time.

The Lenovo A5000 is a dual-SIM (Micro-SIM and regular SIM) device which runs Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box. It comes with a 5-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) IPS display offering a pixel density of 300ppi. The Chinese company also claims that the handset features rain and splash-proof screen protection.

The smartphone is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek (MT6582) processor coupled with 1GB of RAM and Mali T760-MP2 GPU. The Lenovo A5000 comes with 8GB of inbuilt storage, which is further expandable via microSD card (up to 32GB). It sports an 8-megapixel autofocus rear camera with LED flash while there is a 2-megapixel fixed-focus front-facing camera also on board.

    Apart from 3G, the Lenovo A5000 offers GPRS/ EDGE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS/ A-GPS, Micro-USB, and Bluetooth connectivity options.

It measures 140x71.4x9.98mm, weighs 160 grams, and is listed in Black and White colours. The Lenovo A5000 packs sensors such as an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, and a proximity sensor.
