BALA SAYS VIJAY IS GREAT
Vijay’s heartwarming drama, Deiva Thirumagal, has won many accolades since its release, and the entire team is basking in its glory. In a sweet gesture, the Deiva Thirumagal team arranged a press meet at the Raintree, Teynampet, to thank the media for their support, appreciation, and encouragement. The representatives of the press were given a rousing welcome and a big round of applause from the cast and crew as a way of saying ‘thank you’.
The special guest at this event was director Bala and he presented mementos to those present. When he rose to address the gathering, a hush fell over the audience. The National Award winning director started off by saying that he had come in the capacity of a fan since he is a great admirer of Vijay’s work. He said that he loved Madrasapattinam as well as Deiva Thirumagal. Brimming over with praise for his fellow director, Bala said that he liked how every frame in the film had been crafted with great care. Deiva Thirumagal moved him so deeply that he wept and had to bring a box of tissues to soak up the tears. In fact, he had booked the entire box so that nobody would see him cry! He also admitted that Vijay was terrifically talented and kept him on his toes as a director.
Bala was also full of appreciation for Vikram. The auteur said that though the actor had done Sethu and Pithamagan (he won the national award for acting in this film) with him, DTM was an even better film and showcased his skills as an actor most effectively. Anushka also received praise for her powerful performance. All present were filled with respect for Bala because of his humility and generosity of spirit in commending the work of a fellow director.
Vikram also addressed the gathering and said that the entire credit for the film should go to Vijay because it was his brainchild. He also thanked the media for their support. Vijay was one of the big stars of the evening and he accepted all the praises heaped on him
with modesty.
It was a wonderful event and a charming gesture on the part of the DTM team to give due credit to the media for the success of their film.
