Benjamin Mendy will join Manchester City for €45.7m (£39.8m) + bonuses. He'll fly in and sign after international duty.

finally. finally a position in dire need to be filled.
Mendy/alex sandro on left and walker/bellerin on right, centre back is the main worry, kompany fitness is a conceren, VVD asking price is 70m which will be foolishness,, would go for alderwiereld instead,, would like to promote Sancho, Diaz, Maffeo, tosin etc. next season(18-19),, make some use of academy,, don't know about Benjamin Garre, is the kid good,, heard there is a hearing at CAS regarding his transfer,, if hit by a transfer ban we should make good use of this window,,

yes. central is a concern. hoping on a better kompany next season.
diaz is fine. still need lots of playing time & confidence. maffeo should be used in fa & capital. tosin didn't impress me.

Watched Enes unal's highlights, he seems promising, good that city inserted buy back clause,, he is better than iheanacho,,
sadly there is no quality central defender in premier league, Bonucci (29) is the best option it seems, risk worth taking..

bonucci works well in a 4-3-3 formation. if pep decides to go for 3-4-3 or any variation with 3 in the back, don't know how bonucci will cope.

arsenal played well recently in 3-4-3, city tried and failed, but with better personnel we may succeed, our wing backs were not getting faster and teams like leicester took advantage of it,, stones and kolarov offered little,,

pep had tried navas in full-back & kolarov in central defence. both backfired. navas is out. wonder why kolarov is still in the team.

Bonucci is used to play in a three man defence alongside barzagli and and chiellini when juve plays 3 5 2 formation

pep's 3-4-3 involves the central def opening up spaces for wingers. juve's does not.

Manchester City have won the race for Virgil van Dijk (25) who will join from Southampton for £60m when the window opens. Van Dijk will become the world's most expensive defender when he joins City, signing a 5-year deal worth £200,000-a-week.
