Pep Guardiola did not walk up the podium to receive the trophy. Instead, he stood back on the pitch and watched it alongwith the City fans.
"Normally in football the weak point is the manager. I could feel how the club was behind me. It showed the players I am the manager. The club supported me and I tried to support the club and it helps a lot. Big congratulations for everyone at City, Sheikh Mansour, Khaldoon - it’s going to help us to win the next games in the Premier League and win the Premier League. I am so happy - but I am part of City, I have been part of the group. I am so happy for City. I can’t forget how they took care of me last season when it wasn’t so good. I always remember how all the club, Khaldoon, supported me. That’s why it’s so important and I’m so happy. I wanted to stay on pitch and see it with our fans.
