Community Shield - Carabao Cup - Premier League - Fa Cup - 2018/2019 !
It has been confirmed that the City Football Group (CFG) has agreed to a kit contract with Puma starting in the summer of 2019 and running until 2029. The deal covers six CFG teams – Manchester City (men and women), Melbourne FC (Australia), Girona (Spain), Atletico Torque (Uruguay), and the recently acquired Sichuan Jiuniu FC (China). Excluded from the deal is New York City FC. MLS has a league-wide deal with Adidas that covers all teams and runs until 2024.
Although CFG and Puma did not announce the value of the deal it has been widely reported as being worth 650m euros ($860m). Some described the amount as staggering. However, the number is pretty much the going rate for a top Premier League team that isn’t Manchester United. Manchester United’s ten-year deal with Adidas that runs to 2026 remains the gold standard, paying an estimated 75m euros ($99m) a year. Manchester City, by far the dominant team in CFG’s stable, currently earns just 12m euros ($16m) per year from a deal with Nike that started in 2013. An increase to 65m euros ($86m) a year is a significant increase.
From the Chairman's yearly interview:
Q: Does India feature among CFG's investment plans for the future?
Khaldoon Al Mubarak: India is a very interesting market. We look at it as a wonderful country, one of the top growing largest economies in the world, one of the largest growth rates in the world in terms of GDP growth. The people of India are embracing the game of football like never before. Manchester City fans in India have grown tremendously over the last 10 years. India is a cricket nation predominantly but you can see how the football league has evolved over the last couple of years. As City Football Group is always focused on forward, long-term thinking, India is a country I hope we find the right way to enter into. We would love to build an academy for boys and girls, develop women's football and overall the city around the infrastructure we finally decide upon. You can expect CFG to buy a club in India's top league in the next season and make our presence over there.
What Manchester City are set to do with new US international goalkeeper
United States international goalkeeper Zack Steffen will officially join Manchester City on July 9
Manchester City are planning to send US international goalkeeper Zack Steffen on loan to Fortuna Dusseldorf, according to reports.
The 24-year-old will join the Premier League champions from MLS side Columbus Crew on July 9 after a deal was initially agreed in December 2018 for a fee believed to be between ?7 million and ?10 million.
However, ESPN report that the goalkeeper is expected to join the Bundesliga club on loan when his transfer to the Manchester club becomes official.
It will be the second time Steffen has played in Germany after he spent the 2015-2016 season with Freiburg after coming through their youth teams.
The American stopper struggled to make an impact and made just 14 appearances for the club's reserve team before moving to Columbus Crew in 2016.
