Javier Hernandez relishes scoring all kinds of goals for Manchester United

Javier Hernandez who netted Manchester United’s winning goal against Everton at the weekend in their English Premier League encounter at Goodison Park stated in his latest interview that he was happy scoring all kinds of goals for Manchester United. The Mexican striker has taken the Premier League by storm ever since his arrival at Old Trafford last summer. Manchester United bought the Mexican forward due to his poaching instincts and he has already shown why Sir Alex Ferguson was so adamant on bringing him to Old Trafford in the first place.
Hernandez was initially pointed out as one for the future but his performances last season in the UEFA Champions League as well as the English Premier League have meant that he is now a permanent fixture in Manchester United’s starting line up. Sir Alex has lavished praise upon the speedy striker but Hernandez himself has been quite humble up till now.
In his recent interview to the press, the Mexican goal scorer was asked whether or not he will ever score from a long ranged effort as most of his goals have come from inside the penalty area for the Red Devils. Hernandez said, "You never know! I think part of the reason I haven't done that yet is because of the instructions I receive from Sir Alex [Ferguson]. My job is to play very high, right on the last man. To be honest, I don't mind how I score goals - whether or not you score from one metre or from the halfway line, it counts the same. A goal is a goal."
Manchester United’s striker will hope that he gets more chances to start for the English Premier League champions this season. Ferguson has already shown great faith in the young forward and over the course of the rest of the season; the veteran Scotsman will expect Hernandez to retain his goal scoring form as United look to regain the top spot in the Premier League table from their local rivals, Manchester City. Ferguson’s team play their next match against Otelul Galati at Old Trafford as a part of their UEFA Champions’ League group stage campaign and after that they host Sunderland in the English Premier League.

Hernandez double as Mexico beat Serbia in friendly - The Times of India

QUERETARO (Mexico): Javier Hernandez scored early and late to give Mexico a 2-0 win over Serbia 2-0 in a friendly on Friday.

A Carlos Salcido cross from the left in the second minute ended up in the far corner of the net, with Hernandez claiming the goal as his, saying he got the slightest of glances with his head. Television replays were inconclusive.

The Manchester United striker won and then converted a penalty in the 86th, with Manchester City defender Aleksandar Kolarov receiving a second yellow card for the foul.

The game was Mexico's last of a successful 2012 and Serbia's first since failing to qualify for Euro 2012.

"I touched it," Hernandez said about the first goal in a halftime interview with local television. "But we*ll have to see the video."

Mexico set out at a high tempo, dominating first half possession and taking the game to Serbia.

In the 44th, Andres Guardado came close to putting Mexico two up with a shot from the edge of the penalty area, but Serbia keeper Vladimir Stojkovic deflected the ball wide for a corner.

Serbia was restricted to opportunities from set plays, but failed to seriously test Mexico goalkeeper Alfredo Talavera during the first half.

Serbia improved after halftime, almost snatching an equalizer in the 78th when Vladimir Kaluderovic crossed the ball to a free Adem Ljajic, who was tackled by Jesus Zavala just as he was about the shoot.

Hernandez won the penalty late in the game after being shoved by Kolarov as he was jumping for a cross. The striker slotted the penalty low to the goalkeeper's right.

The victory means Mexico has won 11 games, drawn four and lost one game in 2012, all under coach Jose Manuel de la Torre. Serbia, which finished third in Group C of Euro 2012 qualifying behind Italy and Estonia, faces Honduras in another friendly on November 14.

    Teams:

Mexico: Alfredo Talavera, Francisco Rodriguez, Carlos Salcido, Hector Moreno, Efrain Juarez (Jonny Magallon, 90), Jesus Zavala (Jesus Molina ,90), Israel Castro, Pablo Barrera (Edgar Andrade, 64), Giovani Dos Santos (Sinha, 54), Andres Guardado (Javier Aquino, 8, Javier Hernandez (Oribe Peralta ,89).

Serbia: Vladimir Stojkovic, Branislav Ivanovic, Aleksandar Kolarov, Slobodan Rajkovic, Pavle Ninkov, Milos Krasic (Bosko Jankovic, 63), Zdravko Kuzmanovic, Milos Ninkovic (Radosav Petrovic, 77), Gojko Kacar, Nikola Zigic (Dragan Mrdja, 73 ((Andrija Kaludjerovic, 80)), Milan Jovanovic (Adem Ljajic, 69)

Javier Hernandez spurred on by competition for places at Man Utd - ESPN Soccernet

Hernandez, 23, made a blistering start to life at United last season, dislodging Dimitar Berbatov as Wayne Rooney's strike partner after netting a series of crucial strikes for Sir Alex Ferguson's side domestically and in Europe.
The Mexico international suffered a head injury during pre-season, handing Danny Welbeck the chance to move up the pecking order, and with Federico Macheda, Berbatov and Michael Owen also in the reckoning, Hernandez has found himself facing a fight for selection.
The former Chivas Guadalajara man believes that playing for a club of United's stature means competition is commonplace and is spurred on to make his mark.
"It's not a problem," Hernandez told United's official website. "I've come to learn that there will always be competition, at any club.
"You look around on the training pitch and there are almost 30 players, but only 11 can start a game. So it's tough. You'll always have disappointments.
"It helps you improve, though. On the training ground everybody wants to do their best, they want to prove what they can do and earn a spot in the team."
Welbeck has forced his way into the England reckoning on the back of his fine start to the season and his form has not come as a surprise to Hernandez.
"I remember when I was in Mexico and I was watching Manchester United on television - Danny was just starting to come into the team and be given a few chances," Hernandez said.
"You could see he had a lot of potential then, and was improving all the time. He was a good prospect then and now he's even better. He's had a great start to the season."

United sink Swans as Hernandez strikes - The Times of India

SWANSEA: A goal from Javier Hernandez at the Liberty Stadium was enough to keep Manchester United hanging on to the coat-tails of Premier League leaders Manchester City.

The 23-year-old Mexican striker struck after 11 minutes to leave United five points behind their city rivals.

Swansea gave it a go in the second half and perhaps deserved a point if only for the manner in which they approached their biggest game in years.

Still, last season's Championship play-off winners saw their unbeaten home record go despite golden opportunities for Scott Sinclair, Mark Gower and Neil Taylor.

Desperate to close the gap on the runaway leaders, United, who had never previously won in Swansea, should have been a goal down inside four minutes.

Sadly, just as he had at Anfield two weeks previously, Gower wasted a glorious chance from 20 yards.

The hosts were made to pay for that miss, barely four minutes later. Ryan Giggs picked up Angel Rangel's careless pass on the edge of his own box, and Hernandez converted the Welshman's cross at the near post.

It took the sting out of Swansea and the crowd too. A full house attendance had arrived in hope of seeing the Swans extend their unbeaten run on home soil this season.

To their credit they continued to play the kind of expansive football that has endeared them to so many in recent seasons.

Unfortunately, they came up against a United side that begin to grow in confidence on the back of Hernandez' goal.

Rooney and Giggs pulled the strings in midfield with Nani and Park Ji-Sung causing problems out wide. The only missing ingredient was a second goal.

To their credit, Swansea should have been level in the 22nd minute. Wayne Routledge presented Sinclair with an open goal, but with David De Gea stranded, the former Chelsea man missed from barely half a dozen yards.

Buoyed by that, Swansea enjoyed their fair share of possession with Nathan Dyer having a spirited tussle with Patrice Evra.

In the final minute of the first half, Rooney and Hernandez exposed Swansea down the left and should have done better with only Michel Vorm to beat.

Thankfully, for Swansea, Hernandez failed to find Rooney at the far post and the ball disappeared to safety.

Evra's rash tackle on Dyer, a minute into the second half, earned the full back a deserved booking. A minute later, Taylor's shot was beaten away by De Gea after excellent work from Dyer on the right.

The introduction of Joe Allen at half time had given Swansea far more bite in midfield and though United had been dominant for much of the game, they were suddenly under the cosh.

Successive corners from Sinclair caused further difficulties for the visitors and Garry Monk's far post header was diverted behind by Giggs.

Sinclair then wasted a golden chance to put Dyer through on goal and as United struggled to contain Swansea's five man midfield, Sir Alex Ferguson introduced Darren Fletcher.

Swansea continued to battle relentlessly, but were fortunate to survive when Rooney escaped the clutches of Monk and attempted the most audacious chip over the advancing Vorm. The Dutch keeper looked on helplessly as the ball landed on the top of his net.

Two minutes later and with Swansea now a spent force, Phil Jones broke into the City box and duly struck an upright with a shot that left Vorm rooted to his spot.
