Mino Raiola’s intention of auctioning Manchester City target Erling Haaland off to the highest bidder this summer was made clear on Thursday , as Erling Haaland’s father as well as his agent, Mino Raiola met Barcelona president Joan Laporta in the morning to discuss the blaugrana’s interest in Haaland before travelling south to the Spanish capital to learn Real Madrid’s intentions regarding the Norwegian
Haaland is, along with Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe, the hottest prospect in European football right now.The £154m star is on the radar of Europe's elite owing to his sensational form
Both Barcelona and Madrid are in the market for a capable centre-forward. Barcelona never replaced Luis Suarez when they allowed him to join Atletico Madrid last season while los blancos are over-reliant on the ageing Karim Benzema. The plan had been for Haaland to stay at Dortmund until next summer, when an informal release clause would come into effect. But the incredible nature of Haaland’s development has accelerated interest in him

this is something that has bewildered me... few months back, barcelona was said to be on the brinks of bankruptcy... presidential election takes place, new president comes in and now they are going for a bank-breaking player... how is that possible?

If messi leaves they may be able to free up some.. then through player sales, they may sell some young players as well .. Fati maybe...

pundits are claiming that the covid situation and the empty stadiums have affected the market such that it is tough to correctly calculate the price of a player... if that is true haaland and mbappe are likely to stay at their clubs for one season...

i don't buy that... pep is saying so as to avoid putting pressure on the present quota of players...

I think the financial situation hasn't changed and the club are still linked with players like Wijnaldum , Depay etc ...
That may change with the sale of some high profile players
They still have some excellent young players like Pedri etc and the future is bright but Koeman is not the man to lead , Xavi may come

Since Man City isn't interested in Haaland only Chelsea remains in England who can pay his heavy transfer fee / wage I think ( Liverpool likes to get Mbappe than Haaland )
I think he will stay at Dortmund for one more season even if they fail to qualify for next seasons Champions League
