just 10 days left and i have no idea what man city have come up with regarding a central back defender and if possible a backup for injury-prone aguero.
Jules kounde as CB, probably no forward, only Lautaro available, next year lot of options available mbappe, haaland.. I would like if city go for a short term option like Cavani, or else they will promote Liam delap, other main concern is left back, Mendy is not that player anymore..
kounde is good as a long-term option. but right now, what city needs is ready-made cb. kounde with no cl experience does not seem like a quick fix. moreover, he has played only one season. how much he is prone to injury is still unknown. otamendi might have his flaws but he was a player who stayed away from injuries and city always backtracked to him. i would have preferred a koulibaly or gimenez. ake is also a long-term in the making player. get a cb and try ake at left-back would be the only option i have with me.
Kounde performed well against Bayern too, no worry about it, he will be good in UCL... Koulibaly is slowing down and he will cost big money, high wages too, Gimenez fitness record is not good, main thing is there is room for improvement for Kounde, experience alone will not land UCL, guys with right temperament and ability helps too, he seems confident, not rash, and if experience alone matters, Pep would have won UCL at Bayern or City. Don't like experimenting players position too much Cancelo at left, Zinchenko at left, we need a proper left back, which city clearly doesn't have. Right now we have a 60% Mendy, and makeshift LB's , you need at least one specialist which is fulfilled by a handicapped fellow (mendy), Ake can be a backup option there. In big games proper players must be picked and stop panicking.
What the hell, City in for Ruben Dias, next Mangala..
Gabriel Jesus injured now, Liam Delap the only striker.. Will city move for a striker? Aguero replacement..
