Premlals outsider starts with narration of the protagonist shivan kutty portrayed by sreenivasan. The movie stands in between the genre of drama and thriller. Definitely the movie is good at parts, unfortunately the movie lacks a suspense ingredient and struggles to keep momentum .after a point of time the movie can be easily predicted and some cliché elements in the climax affects so badly and ultimately the film leaves the mind of the viewer without any impact.
The story is about sivan kutty,a boat driver in thekkady , who always lives in tenterhooks because he is expecting a person, who is in a great revenge with him.Later it is revealed that lawrence(pasupathy) is the person sivan kutty fears. Indrajith plays the role of ruffian neighbor boy who is always a headache to the neighbor because of his Alcoholism,Drug consumption and his ruffian nature.
Antagonist Lawrence played by pasupathy steals the show,and by the 2 nd half the movie becomes almost a devil dance of antagonist over the protagonist. sivankutty remains optimum for the character.Indrajith as mukundan is just ok,but we couldn’t able to find the shades of his performance in EAK.
The biggest highlight of the movie is its theme that appears very interesting on paper. Though the first half is inviting enough withattention-grabbing premise and some truly wonderful revenge scenes,but the movie is not able to hold interest in its entirety.
The story line is too skinny for a movie, so they have to depend in dialogues ,unfortunately there is no such memorable dialogues ,The BGM section is good in some parts, esp when pasupathy comes ,but it becomes very miserable and just limited to royalty free BGM in some parts of the movie.The cinematography part of the movie is just awesome, the movie is rich with few memorable shots and graceful locations.
In short if you want to see a common mans movie,with predictable climax and without any new gen ingredients go for it. if you hates the predictable story and clichés in the climax stay away
