Thanks Raju
Finally Ordinary came to Mumbai in its third week after KnC completed one week and left.
At last, more Mallu movies start coming in Mumbai, but EAK yet to come.
Screen - Nerul (Near Vashi), Cine Max - 150-160 seater
Date 31-03-2012
Status - Surprisingly 50-60% for the show which is supposed to be 100%. (For outside KL, its star power that pulls crowd)
I was talking with my family on this movie ever since it released, just like the case of SnP, Trafiic, IR, Pranayam, EAK. hence expectations were so high.
The movies started in a brilliant fashion. The Bus-Stand scene, Antony's snap scene, Bijus introduction, that too like a Super Star, scenes in the bus etc. etc.. From there till interval everything was on a roller coaster ride in an 'Extr'a Ordinary bus taking everybody along with it. Only exception was the female leads. (will come later to it)
Second half :-
Becomes an average stuff, as always the case with a movie now a days. Asif become venomous, then police, murder/suicide, peace restoration and the ridiculous acting of Boban's pair and looks as well, like that of a third rated serial actor.
Over all a very good movie.
Take away
Biju- The heart of the movie, his slang, timings and emotions (except smile)
Lalu - Quite good
Boban - Nothing more than his known abilities, except action and reactions
Asif - Good in second half, but some problem somewhere, his voice, acting when do nothing in the screen (not becoming a part of the happenings)
Ann - An item which would soon be landed up in museum.
Boban's pair - My God, How our directors find such ridiculously looking spoilers. She was a show spoiler, irritating and looking really horrible.
Baburaj :- Good on his recently added Armour of skills.
Direction- Since the script and dialogues were good, he just pushed it just like ' IV Sasi' pushed the notoriously famous Renjith's 'Devasuram' which surprised us and forced us to believe that its from IV Sasi. (all his good movies were from good Scripts).
Here, the director has to improve to raise above scripts.
Camera :- The second best part of the movie after Biju
Script :- The third best part of the movie.
Songs :- Asahaneeyam
Verdict :- Average run in Mumbai just like all movies, as only some Mallus like to watch movies here.
My rating - 1.25 for Biju, 1 For Script, 1 for Camera, .75 for Boban, .25 for Asif, -1 for female leads, 3.25/5
Very good to watch.
Advise to directors :- When selecting female leads pl use your brain and watch it from a viewers perspective, or else it will be a spoiler.
