While world cinema is going through a 3D spree and film makers around the globe look forward to make masterworks in detailed three dimensions, ‘Raktharakshassu’, a 3D Malayalam movie is on the anvil. This movie is exclusive, for it spots the coming together of the technical crew behind the much hyped Hollywood movie ‘Saint Dracula 3D’ and K.P Nambiathiri, the Director of Photography of the ever first 3D movie in Malayalam ‘My Dear Kuttichathan’. Ananya, after two super hits in Tamil –‘Engeyum Eppothum’ and ‘Nadodikal’, plays the character of the very outlandish heroine, when ‘Second Show’ fame Sunny Wayne (Kurudi) contracts his first hero role, in the movie.

The genre is horror, yet not a customary flick on spirits and ghosts, but a psychic thriller. The plot dashes around the lives of a well known writer, his wife and child, spending their vacations in an island bungalow, cut off from the outside world. Off late, all the three are strangely influenced by the supernatural forces, supposedly present in the bungalow. Their characters are manipulated to such an extent that a family feud is foreseen; where they even try to kill each other. The entire sequence of events dilutes the margins between demonic possession and madness. A vacation changes the fortune of the family. This tale of vacation-time delusions hits the theatres, this summer vacation.

As a matter of fact, unlike the situation where movies including ‘Avtaar’ were screened only in very few theatres owing to the shortage of 3D silver screens, ‘Raktharakshassu 3D’ would be screened in 33 theatres in 3D, in the changed scenario of things. The movie produced under the banner of 3Dreams International, is directed by ‘R Factor’ – a group of young directors, writers, editors and graphic designers. The story and lyrics of this ever first Malayalam movie with three different climaxes, is by film maker Rupesh Paul. Veteran actor Madhu bags very unique a role, a kind of which he has played only 30 years back. Niyas Mussliyar of the ‘Kshanakkathu’ fame , makes a grand comeback with this movie.
