Masters - The first malayalam movie for Sasikumar. Sasikumar has some fan following here also. Had seen some flexes by sasikumar fans association during the release of Porali.

The story has a socially relevant theme in it, the atrocities against women. The story revolves around the murder ivestigation of four chronic womaniziers(heard of chronic bachelor..anyway this is how they say it in the movie) and how they are connected to one another. Prithviraj plays the role of the investigation officer and Sasikumar as his friend, a journalist. Other characters include Mukesh, Pia, Ananya, Mithra Kurien, Jagathy, Saikumar, Siddique etc.

The screenplay is by debutant Jinu Abraham. In his debut movie itself he has tried to come with a thriller and he has partially succeded in it. The inexperience of fresh scenarist can be clearly seen in the movie. For a change Johny Antoney has tried his hands with a thriller rather than his usual crass no brainer comedy movies. But the result is not so satisfactory. Like in the first half some unwanted heroism scenes and the movie lacks the sleek feel that of a thriller movie.

Performance wise Prithiviraj does his role pretty well. The biggest minus of this movie is Sasikumar's character. Its a character any actor could have done. I think the director just wanted the name sasikumar in the movie so that the movie gets a extra boost. And to make things worse the dubbing for his charcter was horrible. It would have been way better if sasikumar's character was tamil and that would have added a punch to the character. Salimkumar, Biju Menon, Saikumar, Jagathy comes in small roles and do their part. The heroines Pia, Ananya, Mithra Kurien etc has nothing mcuh to do.

Cinematography is the usual fare nothing great about it. Music is also average and there is only one song in the movie. BGM was a letdown considering it was by Gopi Sundar.

The movie is not bad or not good.The movie starts of well but losses its steam on the way and becomes predictable and ends up with a rather very ordinary climax.Considering its from a first timer the movie is still a watchable one.
