22 Female Kottayam- My Review

Status: Slowly got a full house as soon as show started

Ashiq Abu's movie after the trendsetting Salt & Pepper.. Definitely expectations were high and Ashiq has come up with another new generation cinema.

Story: It's all about the life story of Tessa (Rima Kallingal) who plays the role of a nurse in a hospital at banglore and how her life changes when she meets Cyril (Fahad Fazil).

Well it's a terrific attempt from Ashiq Abu, Abhilash K Nair, Shyam Pushkaran and last but not the least Rima Kallingal. Except for the lag in second half, especially those jail scene portions, Ashiq Abu has managed to hold the viewers interest for 2 hours.

Rima Kallingal comes up with her career best performance and is sure to walk away with some awards. Fahad Fazil- the 'Imran Hashmi' of Mollywood was fine but his role looked very much similar to Chappa Kurish. Prathap Pothen, TG Ravi and Sathaar were good in their respective roles.

On the technical side, cinematography was top notch and title song from Avial was good. Background score from Bijipal also rocked. The movie's duration is just over 2 hours but still you may find it's a bit slow.

Overall, 22 Female Kottayam is a movie to be appreciated for the sincere effort by the team but the problem is it will mainly appeal to multiplex audience and may not cater to the festival season viewers.

Verdict: Bold attempt
