5 Ondu Aidu in Malayalam

Director V K Prakash plans to shoot the Malayalam remake of the Kannada original in Bangalore

Just when you thought it was one-way traffic here as far as remakes are concerned, director VK Prakash decided to do something that is totally opposite.
The director, who was recently in the news for introducing the use of a helicam in Mollywood, is readying for an August release of his next Malayalam film. However, he already has yet another project in the pipeline. VKP is set to remake his Kannada flick, 5 Ondu Aidu, in Mollywood.
This multi-starrer will feature Jayasurya and Meghana Raj, Indrajith and Padmapriya, Kunchacko Boban and Nitya Menen, Shanker Ramakrishnan and Aparna, and Anoop Menon and Ann Augustine.
Child artists Dhananjayan and Nayan Thara will also essay important roles in the flick based on five different plays of playwright Jayaprakash Kuloor.
“The film, centred on man-woman relationship, is weaved into a single story encapsulating the struggles of a filmmaker, exploring different facets of the institution called marriage,” he informs.
Nithya Menen and Padmapriya were part of the Kannada flick as well. The shoot of the yet-to-be titled flick is scheduled to begin on June 10 in Bangalore.
