Childhood is the most memorable days in everyones life. An age full of dreams and hopes. As we grow up we lose the child in us or rather we try to hide the child in us and try to act as grown ups. But the fact is everyone still keeps the child deep in their heart waiting for a time to come out.

Manjadikuru is a movie which takes us back to our childhood. Dont watch the movie as yourself but as the child in you and you will be surely taken to your childhood. The story of joint family and the clashes between them have been seen numerous times, but what makes Manjadikuru stand out is the narrative style, told through the eyes of the little boy Vicky. The world he sees, the happiness, sorrows etc.

There are no hero and heroines but only characters. Urvashi as a typical over proud women, Bindhu Panicker who boasts of her husband Jagathy's job but still yearns for the love from him, Sindhu Menon,the over dramatic american NRI, Rahman, who hates Uravashi and his elder brother Murali,trying to meet the both ends of his life, Thilakan who appears as the grandfather has no dialogues but still makes an impact with his presence. Murali as the ex naxalite who defied his father and mother. Its all realistic and have been captured beautifully.

The real stars of the movie are the kids, Vicky, Kannan, Manikutti and the servant girl Roja. Their life of innocence and joy, how they try to save Roja and sent her to her home in Sivakasi are heart touching.

Kudos to Anjali Menon for coming up with such a movie. Her perfectly aimed screenplay and direction gives the movie the realistic feel and manages to get your attention. There is the subtle humour which runs through the script which makes the child in you laugh. Camera and the Music goes in sync with the script and gives it the perfect feel. Another highlight of the movie is the narration of Prithvi.

Manjadikuru is a movie for the child in you. Watch it and feel your childhood.It is never too late to have a happy childhood.
