Amal Neerad is one director who introduced something new to Malayalam Cinema- extraordinary stylish takings with extreme slow motion effect. Debuting as a director in BigB, the movie was refreshing to watch but it started getting bored when Amal repeated the same pattern in Sagar Alias Jacky and Anwar. Still, youth audience like watching his style of film making and that's Amal Neerad's success. His latest outing Bachelor Party is no different from his previous outings.
Story: Not going much in detail, the lead actors- Asif Ali, Rahman, Indrajith, Kalabhavan Mani, Vinayakan grow up as thieves from childhood and gets separated in between. They all reunite for a quotation and the party begins from here.
Just like in any other Amal Neerad movie here also, it lacks a strong story and he again tries out his hands with his favorite style concentrating on quotation, action, gun fight, dark backdrop, slow motion etc. As expected, his cinematography is top-notch and almost does well in direction part also. Had climax been something similar to a 'Mankatha' with suspense-filled, the movie would have been a cracking one.
All the lead actors are impressive with Rahman and Indrajith being the show-stealers. Their one-liners received the maximum applause and you might feel it is completely double-meaning oriented but that's what today's new generation viewers like. It was good to watch Kalabhavan Mani in a good role after a long time and Asif Ali, Vinayakan also does not disappoints. Nithya Menon looked beautiful while Remya Nambeeshan and Padmapriya sizzles in item numbers. Pritviraj makes a rocking cameo in a superbly choreographed fight sequence.
Unni R and Santhosh's script is a bit weak but their dialogs and one-liners were the saving grace. Rahul Raj's music makes a mark with a mixture of different style of songs. As always in all Amal Neerad movies, the background score is simply awesome and adds a big value.
Overall, Bachelor Party is a typical Amal Neerad movie and it just has those expected stylish moments for youth audience.
