'Annayum Rasoolum' is an upcoming malayalam film by Cinematographer Rajeev Ravi, who is debuting as a director. The male lead of the film is by Fahad Fazil, Newcomer Sabitha Anand is rumored to be doing the female lead in the film which also stars director Aashiq abu and P Balachandran in other important roles. Screen play is written by Santhosh Echikkaanam. Madhu Neelakandan is the cinematographer. Vinod Vijayan and Seven Arts Mohan are producing the movie under the banner of Secret Cinema. Lensman Rajeev with high hopes on Annayum Rasoolum
Popular cinematographer Rajeev Ravi has decided to emulate the paths shown by K.V.Anand and Thangar Bachchan, his contemporaries in Kollywood who have taken to directing films in a big way. Rajeev’s debut film as a director has been titled as Annayum Rasoolum.The movie has Fahad Fazil, who has sort of become the latest heartthrob, essaying the male lead. Carry on to fulfill the dreams, change roles but, one should be sure about the capabilities as well.
Film-maker Ashiqu Abu is all set to play a significant role in the film which also has the likes of Sabitha Anand, P. Balachandran and some more debutants in its cast.Santosh would be aiding Rajeev in the film’s making by penning the all-important script and dialoges in the film. The actress makes her M-town debut with Rajeev Ravi’s Annayum Resulum

Andrea Jeremiah is one of those rare breed of celebrities who has got her priorities straight and her heart set out for chasing her passion. Unfazed about the recent leaked images of lip-lock between Kolaveri Di composer Anirudh Ravichander and her, the Kollywood actress-singer, who will foray into the Malayalam film industry with Annayum Resulum, tells us about her love for Indie films, working with Fahadh Faasil, insistence on dubbing for herself and why crooning in Malayalam has been impossible yet.
What about Annayum Resulum appealed to you enough to choose it as your launch pad in Mollywood?
I’ve been dying to do a raw, real romance for a long, long time. And then, there’s Rajeev Ravi and Fahadh Faasil. I am a huge fan of Rajeev’s work as DOP on Anurag Kashyap’s films and I think Fahadh is such a lovely, sensitive actor, and most importantly, he gives his co-artiste so much to work with. And since I am a ‘nobody’ in the Malayalam film industry, I have no expectations to meet. There was no reason for me to say no to this.
Could you tell us about your role in the film?
All I can say at this point is that I’m happy on the sets of this film. I’ve barely shot for a week, but Anna has already become my most special role so far. She has awakened a side of me that I’d almost forgotten existed, and I’m enjoying coming to life along with her.
You have been approached for a few films in Malayalam earlier, one of them featuring a superstar. Why didn't you take it up?
I have been approached for Malayalam films ever since the beginning of my career. But things will happen only when they are meant to, no? At least that’s how I look at life (smiles).
It’s your first venture in another southern film industry apart from Tamil, discounting the Telugu dubbed version of Aayirathil Oruvan. Are you nervous about that?
Actually, I have also started work on my first Telugu film this month, so that’s two new languages! And of course, we’ve shot Viswaroop in Hindi as well, so that’s another new language for me. Ideally, I’d love all my films to be in English, since I think in English, but I’ve learned along the way that it’s the medium, not the language that matters.
Why haven’t you ventured into other languages before this?
It’s mostly because nothing has ever appealed to me intensely. Also, I’m the sort of actor who likes to speak my lines properly, understanding the meaning, and I try to get the intonation and inflection right. I don’t want to just mumble my lines and leave the rest to dubbing.
You are used to dubbing for yourself as well as for other actors such as Illeana D’Cruz and Taapsee in two films. So would you be doing the dubbing for Annayum Resulum as well?
I am going to try as hard as I can to dub for myself. I will work with a voice-coach or do whatever it takes. Getting someone else to dub will be a last resort, because I know that half the performance comes through in the voice.
Could we see you crooning for Malayalam films if an opportunity comes by?
(Laughs) I regret to say that I have tried and failed. The nasal sounds in Malayalam are simply beyond me. But if my Malayalam improves after this film, then why not?
What sort of scripts or characters would you be looking forward to if we are to see you more in Malayalam?
I want to do more Indie cinema; anything raw, real and edgy will definitely appeal to me, whichever language it might be.
You are one of those people who have managed a fine balance between your singing and acting career. At this point in your life, which of them is a priority?
My music extends beyond playback singing. I am also a songwriter, which very few people are aware of, and my music was, is and will always be my first priority. But in terms of playback singing and acting, right now, I’d say that acting is my priority.
Your reaction to the recent leaked images that have gone viral?
I have already made it clear that I am not bothered about the images which were 18 months old when we were in a relationship. I don’t want to keep yelling about something as insignificant as this.
