One of the biggest problems friends experience when one of their own get married, is the married friend breaking promises. Therefore, if you are someone who is newly married, don't make dates with friends unless you know you can come through. And then do so. If something comes up and you can't, then make apologies and set up another time. That's not a problem. A problem comes up if it happens periodically. Friends won't put up with that for very long. If you're not going to be able to be there for your friends, you'll have to accept that and make adjustments. Usually this will mean making friendship visits fewer and more formal. These five workable tips above on how to maintain your friendships after marriage can be used by both newly married men and women who are looking for ways to keep themselves, their friends and their new spouses happy.
