Annayum Rasoolum
Chennai – Escape
Date & Time : 20th Jan , 9.40 AM
Status : House Full
Annayum Rasoolum , as the name indicates tells the story of Anna and Rasool. In the movie, the story is narrated by Rasools friend Ashley. Rasool is a taxi driver at Fort Kochi and Anna is working as a sales girl in a textile shop. Both of them fall in love , and the story progresses when both have to face the consequences.
There is nothing new in this story, other than having some light hearted funny moments, romance, and slow paced scenes. But what makes it enjoyable is the realistic touch given throughout. The 1st half is superb with many eye-to-eye romance sequences, whereas second half is good having few dragging moments and the climax is heart touching.
Debutant director Rajiv Ravi comes up with a pragmatic love story, which is not for pure commercial movie lovers. There are some dragging moments, which could have been cut off considering the common audience. But personally I didn’t feel so, as it may affect the overall mood of the movie. Santhosh Echikkanam’s script is good, and clearly depicts the life style of Fort Kochi and Vypin people.
Madhu Neelakantans cinematography is beautiful and most of the frames without dialogues speak a lot indirectly. Ajithkumars editing is apt. The BGM is perfect, and the songs composed by Tamil music director ‘K’ are superb and blended well with the flow of the story.
Fahad Fazil , after having a great comeback , comes up with another splendid performance in the lead role. Andrea Jeremiah, having the debut in mollywood , was equally good , performing the heroine role. Sunny Wayne, is also very good in the role of Ashley. Soubin , Shine , Srinda ( Rasools friends Collin , Abu and his wife) has delivered a wonderful performance. All other supporting cast including Ranjith , Ashiq Abu , Rajesh sharma , Sija Rose , Molly have done justice to their roles.
My favorite scene in the movie is the climax, with pin drop silence, both in the movie and also in the theater. On the whole, this is not everybody’s cup off tea. If you want to feel like something happening in front of you, go for it!

Romans
Chennai – Ega
Date & Time : 19th Jan , 6.45 PM
Status : Balcony-Full , 1st Class : Around 50%
“Romans” is the story of two thieves Akash and Shibu. On the way to prison, they escape from train and reach the village “Poomaala”. The people of the village think that they are priests came from Rome, to reopen a church closed for long time. The story progresses as both of them continue to disguise as priest and series of events occur thereafter.
The movie is very much entertaining, even though there is some dragging moments. The story and scenes might have been clichéd and without logic. But, what makes it watchable is the pleasing moments throughout. The 1st half is having limitless fun, where the 2nd half is some what thrilling too, ends up with a predictable and neatly presented suspense.
Boban Samuel, after delivering a good flick “Janapriyan” comes up with a time pass entertainer which is having enough fun. The direction is just passable. The movie could have been a very good one, if some of the scenes are avoided. Script by Y. V. Rajesh is good, considering a comedy movie because “never expect a classic scripts for these kind of subjects”.
Vinodh Illampally has captured the beauty of hill area very well. Editing by Lijo Paul is perfect, especially in the horror kind of sequences. Songs composed by M. Jayachandran is pretty okay, considering the mood and the situation of the movie. But the BGM ripped out from the old film “Moonnam Mura” by Bijipal is completely out of place.
Here comes the winning formula once again. Biju Menon-Kunchakko Boban combo is the heart of the movie. They simply cheer up the audience with whatever is needed for a comedy entertainer. Biju Menon’s role focuses more on fun, whereas Kunchakko also gets equal screen space with added heroism. Nivedha was wasted in an unwanted heroine role. She’s casted to pray for the goodness of hero, which irritated the audience. Nelson has added enough fun in the 1st half and disappeared after that. The scene, which made me to LOL more, is Ponnamma Babu’s Kodeeshwaran dialogues. All others supporting actors like Lalu Alex , T G Ravi , Vijayaraghavan , Kochupreman had done a good job.
Keep your expectations low. If you come up with an open mind without having logic thoughts , you will like this movie. Don't watch this expecting some very well written stuffs.

Theater : Irinjalakuda Sindhu
Date & Time : 13th Jan , 3 PM
Status : BC -60-70%
Earlier I thought of not writing a review for this movie. But now I’m adding few lines about it to make 3 in 1.
It’s a watchable entertainer with many funny one liners. Debutant Gireeshs direction and script is good. Personally I felt like, some of the dialogues could have been avoided. Music is a let down, but Gopi Sundars BGM is perfect and the character Peters BGM really made the audience to laugh out loud. Sunny wayne was good in the main role, but have to improve in the sentimental scenes. All other lead actors have delivered a nice performance. The climax twist is interesting, even though it will raise few questions in the audience.
