Garudapuranam will see the hit duo joining hands after Trivandrum Lodge

The last time actor-scriptwriter Anoop Menon and filmmaker V K Prakash worked together saw one of Mollywood’s most discussed films in recent times — Trivandrum Lodge. While the film dwelled at large on relationships in a rather unconventional manner, the hit duo will next be seen teaming up for an entirely different genre — a supernatural thriller at that. Though, the film, Garudapuranam, will not have Anoop penning the script, unlike in their former MTown outings Beautiful and Trivandrum Lodge.
Apparently, Garudapuranam takes off from where yesteryear supernatural flick Sreekrishnaparundu ended. But, Parthan Mohan, who’s doing the screenplay and dialogues for the film, tells us, “Garudapuranam is not a sequel to Sreekrishnaparundu, but the film picks up from where the yesteryear Mohanlal-starrer ended. While Sreekrishnaparundu was a cult film completely set against the backdrop of the
past, Garudapuranam will retain its
supernatural flavour; yet, the film will
have an urban air to it. It will be a
supernatural thriller with a storyline
that takes viewers on a scintillating, fast paced ride between two different time frames.”
Interestingly, Anoop Menon comes in a double role in the film, with each role in stark contrast to the other. Confirming the news, Anoop tells us, “Unlike in Beautiful and Trivandrum Lodge, VKP and my next outing together won’t have me behind the script. The story is by Arjun Mohan.” While the casting for the film is still on, Parthan tells us that the project will go on floors by mid-2013.
