Watched 'American Vandal' Season 1. It is terrific!
Someone spray paints huge 'dicks' on 27 cars in the school parking lot and a group of students try to find out the culprit while making a documentary on it. The crime investigation is made in mockumentary style. The casting and acting is perfect. Highly recommended.

THE DEUCE. Coming from David Simon, the guy who created 'The Wire' & 'Treme' & 'Show Me A Hero', you know how this is going to be. Lots of research done, lots of amusing characters, lots of conflicts between the haves & have-nots, lots of sub-plots, eventually satisfying... this one treads the same path. 1970's NYork city. The period when white trash hos (whores, pardon my language) roamed the streets under the watchful eyes of their black macho macks (pimps). The period when NY cops took their cuts in all shady deals. The period when Italian mafia decided to legitimise their business by opening up fronts (bars) to launder their money. The period when Nixon was fighting Vietnam & every reporter was sniffing for sources & eye-catchy corruption tales. The period when gays started to come out of the closets. The period of hippies & drug overdose. And finally, the period of 'Deep Throat.' You have it all in here. A dozen of confused souls with more of black than white in them.

The period setup is spot on. The characters are all interesting.
But it's taking it's own pretty sweet time with the story.
Storywise nalla lag aayirunnu season 1. Hope it shifts gears next season.
