read reviews which were harmful for the final season. personally, i don't see any other way they could end it. if you take each character and their journey across the 8 seasons, i think there is a character graph which is impressive. tyrion thought he was clever but he finally had to concede defeat and then start a rebuild process. daenarys became so powerful she lost sense of what is right and wrong. jon snow had to learn it the hard way that duty is something you can never choose against love or honor. jaime did everything for his sister and finally came to understand he is the only one who can get rid of her. clegane finally got to face his fears. overall, if the writers had a soft corner for any character in the whole series, that would be arya. she goes on a self-searching journey, understands what is fear and what is death.of course, all characters were sad and gloomy throughout the season but that was sort of expected.

avenged the Red Wedding massacre, did some shape-shifting and what more, even killed the Night King. Tyrion says people love stories to validate Bran's case but what a story this one has had! and they didn't even wait for her "aye" before picking the king, did they? a bit of a raw deal, I thought.
PS: ok, she lacks ambition, never had the damned throne in her plans, lacks Sansa's tact, so maybe no queen material. point.
    Be kind, rewind.

WHEN THEY SEE US. 4 episodes of an hour each. directed by the talented ava duvernay. produced partly by de niro and oprah. based on the true story of the Central Park Five. 1989, Harlem. 30 youngsters of black and Hispanic origin are running around Central Park. Some of them engage in 'wilding' (attacking and harassing the whites around). Things become serious when a 28 year old white female jogger gets brutally raped and left to die... and five teenagers (four blacks and a hispanic) who have nothing to do with the crimes except that they were there in the Park that night, get arrested and coerced to give confessions that end up seeing them imprisoned. Freed of all charges on the real culprit confessing to the crime, the five finally make it out after 14 years and sue the system leading to the highest compensation in NY legal history. the series is an attempt to chronicle police abuse, racial injustice and judicial failure on a mass scale. donald trump who advocated death penalty for the five back then, is called all sorts of names ranging from puppet to hustler to bigot to devil. the statements he gave back then really show his state of mind towards the blacks and the hispanics. powerful series. well written, well pictured and well directed. well rendered by the cast. a gripping must-watch series.

Chernobyl - Good one.Especially the top notch production value.I was expecting a more documentery -ish movie but this was well taken with a good narrative. They have not stretched to more than 5 episodes and thats a plus point

    Chernobyl

Cinema is a spatial - temporal art. In order to translate the text in script to screen, a director needs to create an illusion of
cohesive space - time continuum on screen. Chernobyl is one such accomplished work, and everything you heard about this show is probably an understatement. It has been meticulously and effectively designed to dissolve the barrier between you and the screen. Based on a nuclear plant disaster, Chernobyl has turned the premise into such an overwhelming, almost physical experience.

Hemled by Johan Renck, Chernobyl is both minimalist and maximalist, dropping us with little preparation into the chaos of the holocaust. Johan takes a bold risk in paring his characters down to their bare-bones humanity, no backstories, no girls at home, no motivations save for survival. This heightens the realism and spares us any gooey sentiment. Dramatizing a national tragedy is no cakewalk, nonetheless, Chernobyl with its spellbinding production values and sterling craft turns out to be one of the finest shows of this century.

To sum up, Chernobyl is a riveting and unapologetic depiction of a national catastrophe.
