Suzhal, from showrunners Pushkar and Gayatri, is good. it sticks to the small-town thriller template -- a setting where everyone knows everyone (think Mare of Easttown) -- and delivers. the series draws on dark themes but puts them all together in a thrilling, entertaining spread. binge-worthy.
    Be kind, rewind.

    Ted Lasso

An absolute charmer. Gets every note, emotion and drama right and makes sure it reaches across to the audience. Even more enjoyable if you're a football follower.

    Suzhal : The Vortex (2022)

Very well written and extremely binge-worthy. The screenplay really hooks you up as it unwraps itself taking its own sweet time. Although, Suzhal too falls prey to one of the major issues with the genre: a pay-off that's not worthy enough of its built-up. The "who" in whodunnit was a mighty letdown as it can be seen from a mile away, and is most probably your first guess itself!

Stranger Things (Season 4, Volume 2)

A phenomenal ending to an already phenomenal season. Sets the stage for the show's final season.

    Season 5 will be!

    Suzhal: The Vortex (2022)

An interesting whodunnit with an underwhelming finale.

As a mystery, the series does tread familiar ground. What keeps you compelled, with as much force as the mystery, is the human drama propelled by thoughtful writing, believable characters, and realistic setting. And yet, a lot of the reason why Suzhal doesn't work completely is because of its inability to break a mould in the way its antagonist is written.

    The Boys (Season 3)

A remarkable critique of our culture's worship of comic book heroes.

As intense and engrossing as the first two seasons, The Boys' third season leans into the strengths of its secondary characters and is all the better for it. It's a marriage of pulpy myth-making and grim reality, telling a weighty story under the guise of mass-market entertainment. It is dark, it is gritty, and it totally throws unexpected twists at you. I can only hope that it continues down the same path.

It more than lives up to its promise!
