Celluloid is a brilliant potrayal of the life of J.C.Daniel in the silverscreen...
The narrative adopts a realistic approach and doesnt call for any usual cinematic compromises which makes the movie more beautiful..
Eventhough a serious plot was to be executed, the movie has the light entertaining moments that keeps this one engaging and there isnt a moment of lag or boredom..Hats off for such a making..
The 1930 period in kerala and the social conditions that prevailed in the society then were perfectly potrayed...
And there were some thought provoking brilliant moments too..the dialogues against the untouchability n caste based discriminations, the character rossy n the hardships she had to face, the use of vayalar as a charactor n song "manushyan mathangale srishtichu" all belongs to this..these all pumps up our spirit and received tremendous response from the crowd..
And about performances..each and every one paid full justice to their roles..
Prithvi was at his awesome best as daniel..the energetic young age and fading old age of daniel was perfectly enacted..
Chandni was the other showstealer..she was more than brilliant as rosamma
sreeni, mamtha, pisharadi, sreejith ravi too deserve a mention..
The 2 songs that has a retro mood were really nice..the visuals were pleasing..
Last but not the least..the man behind all these..Kamal..hats off sir brilliant job...
Overall : Celluloid is a masterpiece artwork that justifies the tag "tribute to the father of malayalam cinema "

"Prithvi is an actor who is like wet clay and in the hands of the right potter
moulds itself into the most remarkable shape that one can think of."
