The cast of Vishwaroopam Actor-filmmaker Kamal Haasan said that the sequel to his magnum opus Vishwaroopam is likely to go on the floors soon.
" Vishwaroopam 2 is in its pre- production phase. I'll start shooting for it very soon," Kamal, 58, said at the screening of the film here.
The sequel will be completely shot in India. Kamal had hinted about this in the credits of Vishwaroopam , which has hit theatres Thursday in Tamil Nadu after a lot of dilly-dallying due to
    the protests from Muslim organisataions.
The Rs95 crore espionage thriller was originally scheduled to release in Tamil and Telugu Jan 25, but a day before the screenings the Tamil Nadu
government imposed a two-week ban on the film after some Muslim groups complained that some scenes in the film portrayed the community in a bad light.
The ban was revoked on the film after Kamal agreed to a truce with Muslim organisations. He was asked to edit a few scenes, which he obliged humbly.

after theatre owners protested. Kamal though says he would like to revisit the idea.
"The situation has changed now and I'm hoping for a positive outcome. I'm still in talks with DTH operators, so let's wait," he said.
Kamal has written, produced and directed the film, which features him in the title role. It also stars Rahul Bose, Jaideep Ahlawat, Pooja Kumar, Andrea Jeremiah and Shekhar Kapur.

    Actor-filmmaker Kamal Haasan on

    Coming soon: Viswaroopam 2

    Happy with the success of
    Viswaroopam, Kamal Haasan on
Thursday announced that a sequel to
the film would come out soon.
Talking to journalists in Chennai, he
said, 'Viswaroopam 2 is in its pre-
production phase. I'll start shooting for
    it very soon.'
Kamal said, 'I don't know how I will
repay the support and love of my fans.
I'm so proud that they maintained
    harmony in troubled times.'
The sequel will be completely shot in
India. And in a statement, Kamal said,
'I write this to inform my admirers who
think a large portion is lost in this
battle for freedom of speech. Nothing
is lost except the sounds of Koran
recital and a few dialogues by Omar
Qureshi in the film. So finally what
    Vishwaroopam lost was just some
sound clips. No visuals were touched.
The visual part of Vishwaroopam is
    intact.'

    'Omar Bhai' Rahul Bose's unique
    experience with Kamal Haasan
    Mar 01, 2013

Rahul Bose has earned quite a lot of
name and fame for his ‘Omar Bhai’ act
in Vishwaroopam and the actor has no
    reason to complain despite being
shown as a ruthless Afghan Jihadi in
    the film.
He recently explained the reasons why
he chose to accept Vishwaroopam. The
prime reason was the fact that it was a
film by Kamal Haasan and the other
reason was the importance that his role
had, on par with Kamal’s role as
    Wissam Ahmad Kashmiri.
He also said that he had an amazing
    experience being directed by Kamal
while his other directors rarely gave
    him that feeling.

    Vishwaroopam 2 - Just 15 days left ?
    Feb 17, 2013

    Everyone who has seen Vishwaroopam,
will be eagerly waiting for the sequel of
the movie which was shown as a small
teaser at the end of the first part.
These footages from the second part
promise as much action and thrills as
the first part delivered. India would be
the scene of action majorly in the
    second part.
According to a source close to Kamal,
it seems the shooting of the second
part would be completed in the next 15
    days after which the post-production
    process would begin. There were
reports earlier that Kamal had already
shot majorly for the second part along
with the first part and this latest news
    only vindicates the same.
We will get to see more of all the
characters who dazzled in the first part
    like Omar Bhai, Nirupama, Ashmita,
Salim Bhai and of course Wissam
    Ahmad Kashmiri.

    "I DON'T KNOW IF I AM IN
    VISHWAROOPAM 2"
    Mar 04, 2013

When Rahul Bose, who had played the
    baddie in Vishwaroopam, asked
whether he will be seen in the film’s
sequel, he said that he did not know
for sure. Stating that some portions of
Vishwaroopam 2 were shot already and
he was a part of it, Rahul Bose said
that he is not sure if that would be
    used.
Rahul added that it was six months
since he spoke to Kamal and he is
completely unaware of what his plans
are as far as Vishwaroopam is
    concerned.
