60th National Award

The Directorate of Film Festivals invited nominations for the awards on January 3, 2013. Feature and Non-Feature Films certified by Central Board of Film Certification between January 1, 2012, and December 31, 2012, were eligible for the film award categories. Books, critical studies, reviews or articles on cinema published in Indian newspapers, magazines, and journals between January 1, 2012, and December 31, 2012, were eligible for the best writing on cinema section. Entries of dubbed, revised or copied versions of a film or translation, abridgements, edited or annotated works and reprints were ineligible for the awards.The deadline for submissions is January 21, 2013.
For the Feature and Non-Feature Films sections, films in any Indian language, shot on 16 mm, 35 mm, a wider film gauge or a digital format, and released in cinemas, on video or digital formats for home viewing were eligible. Films were required to be certified as a feature film, a featurette or a Documentary/Newsreel/Non-Fiction by the Central Board of Film Certification.
The awards will announce on March 18 and distribution on May 3 2013.

Best Actress:Usha Jadhav for Marathi film Dhag.
Best film in malayalam : Celluloid
Special Juri mention :Thilakan for Usthaad Hotel, Lal in ozhimuri
Best film on social issues: Malayalam film Spirit
Best popular film for wholesome entertainment: Vicky Donor and Usthaad hotel
Indira Gandhi for debut director: Chittagong
Best Film on environment: Malayalam film Black Forest
Special Jury Award: Rituparno Ghosh, Nawazuddin Siddiqui
Best supporting actor: Annu Kapoor, vicky donor
Best Female playback singer: Shankar Mahadeven, Chittagong

11 Films from Malayalam selected for this year national film award competition which include Ozhimuri,kaliyachan manjadikuru etc,Interestingly there is no celluloid in these 11 films.
