AMEN Review:

AMEN : A Divine Comedy Musical Entertainer
One Line: A story of a village, a church and, the people living over there.
The specialty of the movie is its variety treatment given for an ordinary story. The full credit goes to the Director Lijo Jose Pellisery who made his 3rd film, a very special one for the viewers. His first two films are 'Nayakan' and 'City of God', which got special acclaimed by the viewers but failure in box office. This time, he succeeded. Its his directorial brilliance that makes this film, a visual treat for the viewers.
First half is filled with loads of good and variety comedies. Second half is somewhat serious type with a good climax. The cinematography was brilliant. There are some shots which iam seeing it for the first time in malayalam films. Music is another positive part of the movie. All songs are variety especially that 'Vatolyy' song. My favorite track is 'Aatmaavin', the title track. That song still haunts me. Direction needs applause. Its his direction that makes an art mood type story into an entertainable way with filling in apt comedies at proper places.
In performance side, Fahad done his character smoothly without any flaws in acting. This new generation star also did an old generation character in a brilliant way. Indrajith was cool and charming in the role of priest. His 'vatoly' song was great.
The new heroine, who did the role of fahad's lover was sweet. The other actors, kalabhavan mani, rachana and others, did their roles in quite impressive way.
Overall, Amen is a must watch for all those who needs to see refreshing and variety treatment in the making side. May God bless this film and its crew. Amen!!!
