Emmanuel - a short review...

How could you not empathise with a simple Insurance agent who due to some unforeseen circumstances is made to run behind a car....inoder to stay -put with his client....The central character of the film Immanel is a guy whom you could see easily identify among youselves...there are umpteen middle-class families who struggle for their living in this fast-moving times....its to their tiny world that lal jose that lets our attention in...Immanuel does benefit quiet a lot from expertise of Lal jose.. the screenplay by Vijeesh does have its share of blips and are at times extremely predictable.but lal jose directs the film with such an assured hand that you remain completely engrossed in the movie....Immanel is one of the films that moves you with it's over whelming simplicity and goodness....the main reason for that must be attributed to its lead Mammooty...who is right at the heart of the movies...and oozes vulnerability in a very effortless manner....the 'kochi slang'that he has managed to lend to perfection....too adds to the charm...the music by new comer afsal yousuf deserves a special mention...and cinematography and editing suits the film quiet well....

Off the others in the cast...Fahad does play a rather over-wriitten character with certain sparkle...and manages to keep it within the grip..I reccomend that you spend time with your family to this film for vishu...because its the kind of movie that any middle class individual could easily relate with....and this small endeavuor certainly manages to make our emotions soar
