First of all, ee filminu oru remake undayal athayirikkum ee decadile eettavum valiya wonder. Karanam ofcourse everybody knows now ithil Prithviraj Sukumaran enna actor cheytha role cheyyan oralum ready avum ennu enikku thonnunnilla. Hindiyil oke aa particular point base cheythittu ulla stories kure undenkilum ellam cheyyunnath new comerso low value stars okeyanu. Oru leading actor infact a superstar will never do it......varietikalude thampuran aya amir khan polum...
Congrats Prithvi, you hav set an impeccable benchmark for other stars in the industry which is difficult very much difficult to follow itself...IR,MAR,ANT,celluloid and MP. He is on track......and surprisingly the turnover of prithvi is matching with the rising of fahad fazil in terms of the time period. Now definitely these two stars are taking the concepts of acting and heroism to another extend.....
Now coming to the film apart from that shocking twist everything in the script was fine which may fall just short of an excellent investigation thriller although the narration was in slow pace. I also felt like lots others that the twist should hav been something which can be accepted by all. Becoz many may concider it as so childish. The concept of Antony mosses A and Antony mosses B was just simply superb......
But either bobby-sanjay or Roshan failed to convey the friendship point of view as strong as the plot demanded. Since Jayasurya has much less screen space one might wonder how these peoples attached with each other so close as saying in the film. Also the title mumbai police wasnt too apt for the theme...becoz it creates different expectations in the audience before the film eventhough the trailor justified it to an extend. Also i felt that they were in two frames of mind whether to go with linear or non linear fashion in story telling.
I felt cinematography and bgm pretty much avg. There was lots of unwanted scenes such as kunchans. But some portions of roshans direction was excellent....he was able to convey the pathetic situations of antony when he losses his memory where as he lacked a little bit of pace in some parts which should hav made the film a lot more engaging and gripping. Remember the part played by rajesh pillai in traffic.
On other actors jayasurya and rahman did well......also aparna and kunchan. Riyas khan was nice in his little cameo.
Altogether an interesting suspence movie for all film lovers and for others too only if they can digest the twist....
But the whole team should be appreciated for trying to make a different outing rather than following the conventional pattern....
In one word i enjoyed the film
3.5/5
NB- if a person losses his memory then how can he remember that he was a smoker. The person himself asks his superior in the car that whether he has cigerrette with him. And if he was able to remember that then he must remember or thirst about his " matte" character also...am i right?
