That article shows the results of the Oxford vaccine, it is a peer reviewed study done by Lancet.
All the primary Covid vaccine candidates need 2 doses. That is the entire population needs to be vaccinated twice after a given interval. That in itself is a massive logistical undertaking!
The Pfizer vaccine is terribly impractical and there will be large scale wastage and mishandling. Here are the facts - for the Pfizer vaccine to work, it needs to be stored at -
70 degrees
The US UK will roll out the vaccines. True, but it will be a slow and tedious process. Pfizer vaccine therefore will be distributed from its own centres in the US, Germany and Belgium. Pfizer has developed a special transport box the size of a suitcase, packed with dry ice and installed with GPS trackers. Each reusable box can keep up to 5,000 doses of the vaccine at the right temperature for 10 days, if it remains unopened. Again each box is touted to cost £5k! The best thing to do about the Pfizer vaccine right now is to buy its shares, 50% jump in share price in a month, thanks to all the hype!
Even if all these challenges are met Pfizer can only make 1.3 billion doses next year, that is less than India's population.
