Kadal Kadannu Oru Mathukutty : A big let down from Mammukka - Ranjith Combo.

Ranjith was a minimum gurantee director and so I went to see this movie for fdfs. But Im totally disappointed with this stuff.


Synopsis : German Malayalee Association decides to conduct a show at Germany as a part of their Association's Silver Jubilee Celebration. They want to bring Superstar Mohanlal as a lead for that show. As a part of this, Mathukutty was appointed from their association to talk with Lalettan. Mathukutty was waiting for an opportunity to go to his homeland from Germany and this decision gives him a chance. Eventhough his wife disagree this decision initially, she was convinced by the association members. And finally Mathukutty arrives in his home land. The incidents that happens after his arrival in Kerala forms the rest of the movie.


In the making side, the director Ranjith fails to deliver an entertaining movie. The script was half baked one with very less humours. 1st half was slow and was lagging throughout. Ranjith tried to include some sentiments through the character played by Harisree Ashokan also failed miserably. We can see Mammukka, Lalettan, Dileep, and Jayaram through this flick. The combination scene of Mammukka and Lalettan was satisfactory. This was the only positive side of the movie. The christian song was good. The 2nd song was waste. Bgm doesn't had any chance of improving the quality of this movie.


On the acting side, Mammukka as usual, delivers a decent performance through his character Mathukutty, eventhough the role was not a challenging one. But I wonder why he decided to do this low standard movie. Lalettan, Dileep, and Jayaram handled guest roles. The new heroine Alisha delivers a decent performance. The other cast includes Muthumani, Tiny Tom, Meera Nandan, Sekhar Menon, Siddhique, harisree Ashokan etc. did a satisfactory performance.


Overall, Kadal Kadannu Oru Mathukutty is a sub standard movie. Those who are very adamant to watch this flick from Cinemas, please do it within a week's time. Mathukutty will go back soon. Finally one question to the director Ranjith : "Enthu Konothilae Padamaada oovvae itu???"
