" The full length review had been rolled back for a period of two weeks on account of a few allegations holding the chance of it turning out to be a spoiler. I hope the period of two weeks will be enough for our members to watch such a nice movie falling into art genre. Thank you for your support. "

Talking about decisions, they are of two. Sometimes we regret and other times we feel good for what we did. My decision to watch ‘Kunjanathante Kada’ falls into the later. This movie without any doubt is “marvelous”, just as marvelous as a precious stone discovered under the deepest trenches of ocean.
Kunjanandhane Kada.
Critique.
The movie is so nice to watch. It’s free of Masala’s and commercial ingredients. You may feel it a slow paced, but it falls into a genre of serious story telling. It’s a drama discussing a life of a common man who is in a battle to live.
Mammootty’s wife in the movie deserves a mention. She is beautiful and talented. She is addicted to face book. The reason behind that is revealed at last. She chats with a fake ID to decrease her mend stress sharing her emotions with others. His husband Kunjananthan is always concerned of his shop.
Kunjanandan’s commitment to his shop was shown several times in beautiful ways. His sensitiveness and emotional attachment is pictured in a scene where one of his glass tumblers shatters into pieces.
Behind the Scenes.
The director ‘Salim Ahamed’ is known for his talent to make films with critical values. His last flick ‘Adaminte makan Abu’ was a great work which went on to grab several critique awards. Here this time also he does not disappoint the spectators. He had exploited the unmatched acting skills of the great actor and carved out a valuable sculpture. ‘Rasool pookkutty’ did a great job. The rain sequences and the sounds like that of men, vehicles, birds and children were well mixed up with the village backdrop. His work can be praised as an outstanding piece of background scoring.
About Mammootty.
Mammootty is known for his tremendous talent to act natural without a question of artificiality. Here also he was not acting, but just being Kunjananthan. One may not feel the great thespian doing an extraordinary act. This is because; he is living as Kunjananthan. Well underplayed with great control and learnable devotion. His scenes looked like been captured with hidden cameras from a common man’s life…. Ok! I am not showing that conceit to measure or review such an actor’s acting talents. He is the king. When he becomes sleepless and restless he was seen wandering on the street, running to his shop and almost getting his nerves break down. A scene of few seconds which show him being silent without any expressions was an example of his acting skill.
The Story and Climax
The story is a common one mutated into a powerful screenplay. It was executed in a smart style and made the audience watch the art with heart and not the eyes. The climax was an open one, but that what the movie demands. If you expected Kunjananthan becoming mad, screaming, running all over here and there in the climax, then you may be disappointed. The movie ends with filling a positive energy into the people’s soul.
Verdict
4.2/5
A strong screenplay executed well powered by spectacular show from Mammootty, Kunjanandan’s shop will serve you deliciously”.
NB: Some one-liners attracted the audience well.
