Kunjananthante Kada : A must watch performance oriented movie.


After the National Award winning movie "Adaminte Makan Abu", Salim Ahmed is back with his 2nd directorial venture "Kunjananthante Kada" starring Mammootty in the lead role. This time he joins hands with 3 times National Award Winners Mammootty and Madhu Ambat, and Oscar Award Winner Resul Pookutty. And what will be the outcome???
Truly a Master Piece craft from these Legends.


Synopsis: The story takes place at a village in Kannur and Kunananthan, a grocery shop owner in that village, is the main protagonist. His family consists of his wife and two children. But his family life is not smooth. His world is his grocery shop. He also has a personal affection towards his shop as it was previously runned by his father and was then later given to Kunjananthan. One day, an order was issued for widening the road and as a result of this, kunjananthan's shop has to be moved. The series of incidents that happens to Kunjananthan's life after this situation forms the rest of the movie.


In the making side, all credits are given to the Director Salim Ahmed. His direction was good with an impressive script. He used every characters in this film to the most suitable way. Sound editing is done by Resul Pookkutty and it deserves a special mention. His work in this movie is charming. Madhu Ambat handled the Cinematography part. The visuals of that village was captured nicely. Bgm and music is nicely handled. The tail ending song is good.


In the performance side, Mammukka once again proves that he is an actor unparallel when handling the role of a common man. Director was successful in using Mammukka's acting brilliance throughtout the movie. It is definitely a different kind of a character that Malayalam movie industry has never seen before. The character Kunjananthan can be marked as one of the best role in Mammukka's career. Kunjananthan's wife role was played by debutant heroine Nyla Usha. She is very lucky enough to start her career in film industry with a performance oriented role. She has exhibited her acting talents to a great extend. Her performance in this movie shows that she has a very good future in film industry. The other cast includes salim kumar, Siddhique, Balachandra Menon etc. Apt casting was done for all characters. All of them used the Kannur slang well.


Overall, Kunjananthante Kada is a must watch performance oriented movie. Highly recommended for families and others those who want to see an unseen performance from Mammukka.
