An Amalgam of Ace Titans bags in sturdy hopes and rocketing expectations. When Dr Sunny, one among the most fervently crafted characters yet took birth in Indian movies get rejuvenated, its quite natural that we all get thrilled.

Movie:

Ajnjali (Keerthi Suresh) and Arjun (Nishaan) are about to get married. As usual an unexpected incident makes them travel to Anjali’s old house, said to a haunted one. Through a few build ups, which may be marked very typical and conventional to Indian horror film traces, the story revolves to the other side which is horror. Comparable to what we all have seen a lot many times in umpteen Indian horror masala’s, the couples decide to stay in the haunted house for a few days. Typical melodramas, showing many of the inhabitance, servants and villagers trying to prevent the heroes from staying in a haunted house too happens here. I don’t know why Indian movies prefer women to experience the spirit and her man to be rational opposing the stories.

What we all think happens straight the way that in suspicion of a mental menace to his lover, Nishaan decides to hire a psychologist to treat her and cut the roots of her disorder. For that he calls his beloved brother like person, Nakulan to help him refer the case to Nakul’s talented friend, the psycho macho Dr Sunny. To add more masala to the horror archive, a few comic characters too make their entry. With Sunny joining the league, there stars the hunt for the haunt.

The remaining part of movie narrates the way, how sunny hunt down the haunt. Here when I say haunt, it may either refer to bad spirits or to the mental fatigue of someone and to know that, you have to buy the tickets.

If you had awaited a sequel to the legendry work Manichithathazhu, you will be disappointed more than any time. This is not a sequel to the nostalgic psychological thriller. The lone connecting elements are the characters of Dr Sunny (Mohan Lal) the veteran psychologist and his friend Nakulan (Suresh Gopi).


What I feel:

Increase in height is directly proportional to the impact of fall. More the expectations, more chance to fail and that what happened here too. But when I make this say, I no way try to say that the much hyped movie fell into hell. It’s an average flick which is severely under the mark, when the whooping factors like matured thespian Mohan Lal, Innocent, Madhu and the Ace director Priyadarsan are taken into account. If we search the past for a few comic stuffs, from the heap of fallen leafs of malayalam movies, we may find a few of them glittering, shouting aloud ‘’the old is gold’’. Some among those will surely have the name of Piyadarsan. When Social networks grew sturdy, we with a shock recognized a lot many movies from Priyadarsan, which we enjoyed were scene to scene copy of old other language movies. Here too the copy cat work continues.
The Thai horror film ‘Alone’ was robbed and reproduced as a fresh pack and was released in 2012 in kannada and was also dubbed into malayalam which did a very lucid job in kerala. Many of us have watched that movie titled ‘Charulatha’. Now it’s very painful to see a very recent copy cat job is being replicated again hiding the facts. In lieu of ‘Charulatha’ now it becomes ‘Geethanjali’. To conclude the movie totally loses its genuine nature. Frame to frame copy of a paranormal movie with very predictable and less successful formulas makes the audience disappointed.

Story:

No true story to comment. It’s a shame. Copy cat Priyan does his job well.

Priyadarsan:

He has faced a lot of allegations for his copy cat system of movie making. Copy king.

Mohanlal:

I was wondered to see the ‘ace’ performing his part with less confidence. No charm evident which was profound with our old sunny. It was just an ‘ok performance’ with very limited things to do.

Innocent and Harisree Asokan :

Innocent also had nothing to perfor. Then Harisree Asokan…..Why the hell he was there ?

Keerthi Suresh :

Just ok. Nothing to say much about. Nowhere near sobhana or radhika (classmates fame). She lost her total grip in many parts.

Nishaan :
Average. Nothing bad, nothing good.

Horror Factor :
Works good backed by class technical support.

Verdict:
An average horror film to watch with family or friends.
