Nadan-'A good watch, not a tribute to drama artists'

Saw Nadan from Kanhangad vinayaka..

Status: cinemayil nadakathe pati parayunnathu pole ithu kananum viralil ennavunnavar mathram...

Film potrays the life of devadas..Everyone in his family has dedicated their lives to drama. film clearly and effectively picturises today's plight of drama n people associated with drama. Film loses its track in the second half. the flashback scenes involving remya nambeesan reduces the movie to an ordinary movie. The impact created by devadas starts losing its charm. The character devadas who had been projected as the epitome of drama artists has been reduced to a pretty ordinary man. For me the character of sajitha madathil s shown as a character who has an identity. she rightly says that devadas did not write a play after jwalamukhi juz becoz he could not write for another heroine. The biggest flaw of this film is the characterisation of devadas. His father and grand father r shown as people who really devoted their lives for drama. but devadas fails once ramya nambeesans character enters his life. he could not do anything for drama after that..

Also I din understand the characterisation of joy mathew. he was the one who introduced ramya to laljose. tat led to an attrition btwn devadas n GK. later he patches up wid devadas n takes the script of jwalamukhi to sankar ramakrishnan. sankar ramakrishnan decides to make the film wid ramya as heroine. at that tym joy mathew was in support of that. in the end when devadas' daughter makes the same drama, he is among the audience right next to devadas...wot was he trying to do? Also ramya nambeesan's character says that she had her own reasons to behave the way she did. Movie doesnt try to give an answer to that. Film has lot many loose ends like tis.

Even with all these Nadan is a decent watch if it was not portrayed as a tribute to drama n drama artists. It should have been projected as a simple film portraying the life of devadas. This is actually not a tribute to drama. Devadas has failed to place drama above woman. Performanc wise everyone did their roles to near perfection. Jayaram was very effective in the climax sequences. One of his best performance till date.

Watch it as a simple film...

ennu parayan patilla...bcoz jwalamukhi was written wid ramya in mind.. i dnt think devadas wud ve written if he had not seen ramya...ramyayumayi bandhapedunnathinu munpu devadas parayunnundu ninne pole ithra prathibhayulla verorale kanditilla ennu...may b he loved her skills...bt tat shudnt ve led him to have sex wid her..ayalku nadakathinodu serikum prathipathi undayirunnenkil he would ve bouncd back showng tat drama is above artist...marichu he could nt even write a single wors ever sinc ramya left...

kpac lalithas rightly says tat i guess..devadasnte achan was successful there..ayalku artistneyum nadakatheyum thammil verthirichariyan sadhiunnu ennu...

n tats wer my cncern abt projectng tis as a tribute to drama artist n portraying devdas as the saviour of drama...to me he is a person who put woman above drama...
