Default Dhrisyam... A visual treat... a thriller with our Laletan's electrifying performance.

    Theater : puthur Chellam
    Status: 70 % max.

May be and instinct or a belief I was sure the movie will be a hit. After the generously positive reviews and heavy ratings pouring in, I was so happy to grab my tickets for the second show. As We reached there the bell had rung.

    Dhrisyam

Georgekutty a 4th grade passed common man who leads a happier life of a middle class Keralite is a cable guy by profession. An ardent and passionate lover of movies, he has almost all fabulous movie scenes by hearted and in problematic situations a few knowledge achieved from those scenes had made him solve them.

His family reflects the life of a middle class in our state. A wife who is so loyal to him, but dreams more than he can arrange for her, two children of small age who are not so aware of the new generation gimmicks and a village where a few people of very rural habits live together.

The first half of the film derives its fuel from the family sequences. Those plots of unadulterated family affairs were very interesting to watch with a breeze of love and kindness hugging us. I don’t know why I was not at all bored with any frame, or never felt drag as I read from a few reviews.

By the interval signing in the family drama signs out and makes way for the taut thriller. From the beginning of the second half I was totally disturbed and so eager to know how the movie goes to an end. I don’t remember how many times I checked the time so as to see whether the movie is nearing to its conclusion. I only had these kinds of feelings before with a few extravagant thrillers in world movies like Shutter Island, Shawshank Redemption, Good will hunt, Silence of lambs etc. Dhrisyam was so gripping. Whatever you call it or what way you describe it, it won’t be more.

    Verdict :

    4/5

    My words

Every one must go and watch the movie in theater. It’s a must watch movie. Amidst many mass commercial movies of no sense and sensibilities like Mayamohini, sringaravelan and many others, which reaped billions, we Malayalees should show the courage to welcome these kind of serious thrillers. Anyone can make movies, make them colorful and attract the audience by blending songs, visual treat, sex, family, comedy and violence in right proportion and spurt it into an instant hit. But not every one can make Drishyam or Memmories. They are gem of movies. We have seen the last gimmick thriller of no substance and soul “Silence”. In that contest I must appreciate Jeethu Joseph for his fantastic screen play and exquisite direction.

    Lal
Our Lalettan is back with a bang. See with how much ease and innate vigor he performed or transformed into Georgekutty. After a few failures he is back with a splendid performance. To those who doubted his lack of form may wide open your eyes and regret for what you thought. Our Lalettan is Back……………
