Thanks chetta!
watched.
cleverly, cleverly done thriller. barring certain portions in the first half, edge-of-the-seat stuff. the screenplay seals the deal here. I liked the way the film deals with the crisis -- no fancy brain games or stylised stunts. just plain common sense and a lot of steely determination. the film's emotional core makes it so much more than your regular thriller. and it's absolutely refreshing to see a protagonist tread the grey area and say that he's selfish and what matters is His family and NOT a perceived right or wrong. it's that rare Malayalam film where characters, even when staring at stark personal losses, hold on gracefully. this is a film that could've also transgressed into moral science sermons on the evils of technology and messed-up teenagers. it's to jeethu joseph's credit that he didn't let the film stray.
mohanlal is a class act. at times, he has displayed an uncanny penchant to rise above characters and films but here, he sheds the performer airs and blends into the film. like they keep saying, he makes this acting business look bloody easy. really good show by shajon as well. 4/5
Sreekumar, TVM, 11 am Saturday. Looked like a packed house in the Reserved class. or let's just say I couldn't see a vacant chair. and massive crowds, especially women, for the next show. it was good to watch a Lalettan film in TVM with a rooting, noisy crowd. like the good old days.
