If you thought among the younger guns only Katrina Kaifand Deepika Padukonemanaged to grab a casting beside Shah Rukh Khan, then this will change your view very soon. Buzz has it that starring opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Excel Entertainment’s next Raeeswill be none other than the little diva Sonam Kapoor.
According to a leading daily, the makers of the film cleared the air of doubts by confirming the news of SRK-Sonam’s pairing via a reputed source. Though more recently both the film’s producer and the director have taken to social media in denying the report officially, quashing any other suggestions, however, another industry insider informed Koimoi that Excel Entertainment is keeping the progress of the film under wraps and even if Sonam has been approached the denial is obvious till a final call is taken on it.
SRK will be sharing the screen space for the first time with Farhan Akhtar, who will be playing a crucial role in the film.
The Superstar will be a bootlegger in the film and Farhan will be seen playing a cop. To be helmed by Rahul Dholakia, the shooting will begin in mid-2014 after SRK wraps up a major part of Happy New Year.

Sonam to romance Shah Rukh in Raees?

The actress has been approached for a role in the film and, while she has been seen with Farhan in Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, it would be interesting to see her share screen space with Shah Rukh. SRK plays the character of a bootlegger and Farhan, a policeman, in the movie scheduled to release on Eid 2015.

Nawazuddin to replace Farhan in SRK starrer Raees


After news of actor Farhan Akhtar opting out of Rahul Dholakia's Raees that also stars Shah Rukh Khan, comes the news that it's none other than Bollywood's talented Mr. Ripley, actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui who'll be replacing Farhan. The choice seems to be an easy one considering it's a complete 'performance' role, and so Nawazuddin - one of the few in the industry with any acting skills - was the obvious pick. It's clearly a win for Nawazuddin who'll be sharing a lot of screen time with SRK, reportedly.

This very reason is also why Farhan seemed to have initially been drawn to the role. But after the movie's schedule got postponed - what with Shah Rukh's injuries - Farhan had dates to spare; he's reportedly already reserved those dates for Bijoy Nambiar's film.

Based in Gujarat, the film will see Shah Rukh play the head of a mafia gang.
