as usual kidu review
Watched the much awaited Balyakalasakhi from PVR......
Proceedings begin by thanking the immortals VM Bashir and Raghavan mash and got the biggest ovation that the packed house could give. The plot is a very simple one which focuses mostly on the childhood romance of majeed and suhra. The basic plot has been laced with the periodic elements of freedom struggle and Majids struggle to make a living. The soul of the movie lies in the romance build up of majid and Suhra. All credits to the team for making these portions very realistic and cinematic at the same time. The portrayal of Majids family life, his relation with his father and mother has also been very effectively conveyed.
Songs are just too good and have been well used in the movie.Felt like the calcutta portions could have been better, with the characters unable to make much of an impact.
Mammookka has given a soulful perfo as Majid and his father. The child artists were good too.Another notable perfo was from the one who acted as Suhras Father. Isha as Suhra looked good with majid.
To sum it up: Balyakalaskahi is a sincere, soulful tribute to the Sulthan of Stories.
